Floyd Mayweather Vs. Oscar De La Hoya- 5/5/07 I am Mexican American and I have always liked the way De La Hoya has represented that particular community. He is a great role model, although he has had his share of controversy. As far as a fighter, he has to be considered one of the best of his time. He will be fighting Mayweather, the best boxer in the world and there are so many story lines involved that this could be a record breaking pay-per-view event. Does De La Hoya have a chance? Or should I just be satisfied if he puts up a fight. Either way I'm pumped because this may be the last chance to see De La Hoya fight and it will take a while for another Hispanic to reach his status. What do you guys think?
Mayweather is pound for pound the best fighter in the world, he'll beat De La Hoya, but this will be an excellent fight.
That's not what Senior has to say (from the LV paper, pulled off a boxing board): Mayweather Sr had a warning for his son, adding: "But he's going to have a surprise, because little Floyd is going to wind up on his ass. Little Floyd is fighting out of his weight class. Oscar definitely would knock him out."
This should be a great fight...hey, wasn't there a thread about this already...oh snap...there was...free post...
