I try to let people know when someone does really good work, so I'd like to personally recommend Albert Miller Florist on West Gray if you ever need to send flowers to anyone. Years ago, an old boss told me about them and I've used them ever since. I honestly don't have to say much. I called them the other day to have flowers sent to the funeral of a friend's family member. I got a thank you saying that the flowers were amazing and included white orchids! I just told them it was a funeral and they did the rest. I've asked for tropical stuff and plants and whatever in the past and they always send the most amazing flower arrangements. This is particularly noteworthy for guys who want to send flowers to women because they send stuff that is very unique - not like anything I've ever seen before. Makes for a great impression. Anyway, just wanted to give them the thumbs up.
Allow me to do the opposite for another florist. 1-800-Flowers on FM 1960 W sucks ass. My dad wanted flowers delivere to my mom on her birthday at work. (You know what a big deal that is...) The delivery called her and said "I can't make it today. How about tomorrow, or you could come pick them up?"
1-800 Flowers is just a distributor of orders, they're not really the flower vendor. If you want to give those people a bad rap, find out what the name of that store is, but it's not 1-800-flowers. I highly recommend SHARPSTOWN FLORIST on 59 South near Gessner. I like that JANET or something. She is hoht.
If you want some of the most unique arrangements and something different go to River Oaks Plant House. Definently one of the best florists in town.
