http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/MindMoodNews/story?id=6306126&page=1 A Florida teenager who used a webcam to live-stream his suicide Wednesday was reportedly encouraged by other people on the Web site, authorities told ABCNews.com. "People were egging him on and saying things like 'go ahead and do it, f*****,' said Wendy Crane, an investigator at the Broward County Medical Examiner's office. Abraham Biggs, 19, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., had been blogging on an online body-building message board and had linked to his page on Justin.tv, a live video streaming Web site, where the camera rolled as he overdosed on prescription pills, according to Crane. Biggs, who had reportedly been discussing his suicide on the forums, also posted a suicide note on a body-building forum, which has since been taken down, in which he wrote, "I hate myself and I hate living."
they weren't egging him on. the dude was already ODing when he started the thread. he was an attention w**** on that board so no one believed him.
Tell me you aren't disappointed that none of them turned him in. Even if he is an attention w**** you either tell the people that run the site or call the cops. Apathy to a person's plight online or not online is what is unbelievable to me. There is no way that it should have taken 12 hours for someone to call the cops. Just sad.
well if no one cared then it's hard to get someone motivated to actually call if they thought the guy was just full of crap. i saw another thread where he got called out on lying about stuff he was doing. the dude clearly had issues and it's sad he died but it's hard to blame anyone on the board since he had a reputation.
Yeah, if I told you I was going to kill myself everyone would think I just wanted attention like I always do. I might do it. Just for the attention.
I don't get it... If you're committing suicide for us, go out in a blaze of glory or something. Stick your head in an oven, let a snake choke you to death, jump of a building into a kiddie pool, don't just slump over on a bed. Boring.
Has anyone ever died on this board, i know it's not really possible to tell. But watching u guys post every day, it would be weird if some just abruptly stopped posting, no one would/could know what had happened. Everyone here should have a backup person that lets us know if anything happens to you.
Yeah, Clutch posted a thread about BroadwayBelm a few months ago. The story about that Fl. teenager is just sad.
We used to have a depressive poster named Holden. I worried about him. He stopped posting and I never knew why.
Was he really depressed? I thought he just enjoyed putting the sad face at the end of any post, regardless of what it was. "I just got a 80 inch tv. It's really awesome. "
