The amount of flopping that gets rewarded during the playoffs is disgusting... Nash looks like he just power slammed whoever that Euro was by bumping him.
Yeah I would like to know whose that guy was too. It surprise me that he flooped like a ******, but it was total BS that the REF buy it and call the offensive foul on nash.
if you killed a person for every time someone in Utah flopped, the worlds population would be cut in half.
why do people always act like battier flops? when's the last time you ever saw him do the whole snap you head back, flail your arms thing. he never does that, and that's what flopping is. it's not falling down b/c you're standing still and a 240 pound guy slams straight into your chest. falling doesn't equal flopping. flailing around to accentuate minimal contact is flopping. and that ain't shane. he takes the pain that comes with real charges.
Those are charges. He just cuts into the lane and takes the contact. You can argue those are unfair for other reasons (namely he does it so suddenly the offensive player had no way of avoiding it) but you can't call it flopping. Flopping is when a player takes minimal contact and then makes it look like he was rammed to the ground. Battier's charges have definite contact because most of them occur when players are cutting to the basket, unlike guys like Ginobili who flop when someone backs them down on the post or when going around a screen.
Actual quote from my date to last night's game: "That Ginobili guy is unbelievable. I haven't seen that much overreacting since I was in a play in middle school."
Eh I've seen Battier take a charge from the free throw line and fall back into the camera men out of bounds. Falling back 15+ feet I think constitutes a flop. Might as well be in a swimsuit with a slip n' slide out there. And I like Battier, but we have some of the best floppers in the game as well. Yes Battier takes legitimate charges most of the time, but he's just as much of a flopper as the rest of the time. I don't really mind defensive flops anyways. I don't like the offensive flops where if you breathe on someone driving in a lane they act like they got tackled by a 300 lb. lineman. Ginobli, Wade, and Nowitzki are the kings of doing this. However they're also some of the best all around players in the game. I guarantee if T-Mac became an offensive flopper we would all encourage it because it would he actually drives in the paint consistently. Point being is it's all about perspective. If a Rocket player does it, we'd all consider it great basketball play. If another team's player does it, it's the bane of basketball.
