i wasn't really into basketball when they still flipped the coin for the first pick, but i've been thinking that maybe i might like that kind of lottery better because it guarantees that the worst teams get the best picks instead of a so-so team getting lucky.

does anyone have any input on why they changed the rules and which way do you like better. i'm just curious.

the coin flipping just seems more fair to me because it goes strictly by record.

the new way makes it much easier for the worst team to fall out of the top five picks or so and it gives a so-so team ( see charlotte last year ) a chance to steal a top pick which they really don't deserve.

Go read my post in Clutch's thread about why there's no coin flip anymore.

My guess is that you said something about the bottom half of the NBA attempting to tank the season to get one of the first 2 picks as opposed to the "more randomness" we have with the lottery.
