Ok, Somehow I stumbled onto this show about a week ago, and have recorded EVERY episode I could get my DVR to handle. What an addictive show.....the lead guy Jeff is an OCD nightmare who flips houses and drives his dysfunctional staff crazy. But, the houses he does are amazing, and what he does to them is gorgeous.... One house, they couldn't get the guy who sold it out, and after he finally left he came back to watch them demo...and you could just see the despair on his face. What a great show....anyone else watching? DD
TLC has pretty much become the house flipping channel. Every show on that station is about flipping houses.
I've watched every episode from the inception. It is rather addictive and I think it's cool that the trash guy is the same guy who plays the annoying white frat boy in How High. Last night was the season finale so I'm hoping they bring it back next summer.
Or little people Or remodeling Or overweight people. Or hot rod shows. Discovery Channel/TLC love to beat the **** out of certain subjects until they are no longer entertaining.
That new show "Wildcatters" (Thursdays 9pm CST) on The Discovery Channel is very entertaining as well.
I thought they said Tuesday night was a question and answer session or something......did that already happen? DD
My wife actually turned me onto Flipping out. I hated it at first but it's true - you can't stop watching this guy. It's amazing how the guy Jeff gets away with treating his employees like that. I love his TRASH guy who doesn't seem to mind being picked on the most. Sometimes I wonder if it really is that way or are they just making interesting TV?
The first season episode run was only 6 episodes. There will be a special Q&A next week in the same timeslot. I have not been able to find out if there will be a second season, but someone at IMDB's forums claims that last night's episode was the series premiere and not the season premiere. I sure hope that poster is wrong.
If you go to IMDB.com and look up the show you will see that Chris (trash guy), Jen (Jeff's assistant), and Stephen Bowman (Jeff's part-time assistant) all have acting credits to their names. With that said, I believe the premise of the show is 100% true. I'd be really disappointed if I found out otherwise.
Reality (TV) Bites. OK, some shows are all right. But whatever happened to watching shows with excellent actors and compelling scripts? Where is the Rockford Files, the Seinfeld, the X-Files, the Twilight Zone, the Cheers of the 21st century? Where is Theodore Kojak, Fred Mertz, Tattoo, Dan Fielding, and Thomas Magnum when you need them? How much more reality can we take?? Signed, 60s-70s-80s TV addict.
A LOT cheaper. They don't have to pay all the unions that build the sets and everything else. They don't have to pay the outrageous prices to actors, writers, etc.
I watch it. I'm a sucker for lots of Bravo reality shows. Actually these are the only reality shows I watch - Project Runway, Top Chef, Work Out, Flipping Out...am I missing any more? And believe it or not, I do have girlfriend.
