Today was the first time i missed a Rocket's game this season, but from the two Yao to Scola highlights I saw it seems that Yao is playing more of that Brad Miller-esque role. Let's not forget the bailout three last week. I like the fact that Adelman's offense is running smoother, but i also don't like Yao being 20 feet from the bucket in crunch time. I guess i really compllain about Yao feeding Scola, and Yao Jacking threes until it doesn't work.

What you saw was a simple pick n roll type play not high post motion.

naa man, you shouldve seen the game. yao was fronted very well by Thomas, and they couldnt get the ball to him at all. it was very frustrating, so he had to use the high pick and roll which actually created two amzing plays that won the game. It was a desperate move but it definitly worked, its better than just hanging around the rim getting fronted and denied.

Yep. That about sums it up.

Yao needs to be more assertive on the post. When he would try to repost it's like he was trying to tip toe around Thomas, and Thomas would just bull rush back in front of him.

But those two plays were absolutely amazing :D

When Adelman was asked how many times the Rockets have run that this season, he said twice.

Rockets have run that play twice in a row!

Though in the future I expect the other team to leave Yao open at the top rather than rotate off of the 4. The Rockets had that open a LOT last year, and Yao just missed it. I remember Rafer and T-Mac getting him that shot quite a bit and he would miss it, usually long but sometimes airball style.

Seems like a nice alternative to a fronting defense.

Duncan admitted he lost his mind on the last play. 99% of the time, teams will let Yao have that shot because he rarely makes it.

its an alright second option that we can pull out once in a while, but as you said, i dont trust Yao with that long shot either, cuz Scola won always be wide open

yao could have gone in closer for a shot... he didn't have to take the shot from there...

You must be thrilled that the great Poppovich and the Spurs are now behind the inferior Adelman and the Rockets. Your man Greg's really out-coaching Rick this year.

Yao really needs to perfect that shot from the outside because I know he can make it, he just needs to start making it in game time so it can open up stuff for the rest of our team. Adelmans offense is a real beauty, its just sad that Yao has not been able to make that shot. I wouldn't be against trying to give Yao another chance at trying to include that shot in part of his offensive game so we can start seeing some real Adelman offense (because Yao really is an above average passer that can just see over the top of everyone and make a pin point pass to a slasher)

If Yao gonna shoot from high post, he need try this more during the game, so the opponent has to change game plan down to clutch time.
