    Famous J contest

This contest has been going for a while. Get an entry for each top 20 score you manage to have at the end of the day. 6 prizes drawn weekly from those entries ($250 Best Buy gift certificates, Famous Footwear GC's, etc.). At end of June, a grand prize winner will be drawn from those entries for a $3000 Best Buy gift certificate.

Right now, there 2 or 3 players dominating the game. They take the top 20 spots everyday, and win all of the prizes every week. This week one person won the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes (there are two of each given away though).

Be warned, the game is frustrating as hell. My handle is bee01, hope to see you on the scoreboard.

I sucked big time at first, but now I get 57-63 consistently. Unfortunately, it takes a 69 to even crack the leaderboard. I don't see how these guys are hitting 69-72 in less than 60 seconds. Maxmidget is unbelievable - he scored a couple perfect games within a few minutes of each other.

Something that's helped me: I right click and zoom-in on the basket to help lineup the shots. Even then, it's tough.

Christ, those two or three guys who get up to 75 must have some kind of 'cheat'. Maybe they found a way to slow down the flash speed?

A tip I used was to right click and zoom in once on the basket. It definitely helps your score, but you'll soon get used to it and at least my score went down to back around my average.

And the shoes they're giving away aren't that great; they're pretty much clearance and look terrile. I'd much rather have the Best Buy stuff.

But yeah, if anyone knows how to slow down flash, that (or something I don't know about) has to be the reason someone had 5 perfect racks in 52 seconds!

I've given up on trying to get a high score.

There are 140 possible entries each week (20*7) for the 6 prizes given away. It looks like there are 3-4 guys that dominate the scoreboard each day. As a result, they've pretty much been sweeping all of the prizes each week. I'm surprised the contest doesn't have any sort of prize win limit. One of those 4 guys is also got a great shot at winning the plasma TV.

that sucks too because I can't get higher than 60

there has to be some kind of cheat and also do you know how they draw for shoes?

I found a way to slow down the star as it moves. Once it starts moving, press & hold the "Print Screen/SysRq" button that should be to the right of the "F12" button, above the "Insert" button. Btw, I have no printer hooked up on this computer.

Does anybody have a technique that works consistently? It seems like lining up the stars on the net works well at some spots, but not all. Also, I have tried stopping the star when close to rim and it is right-side up (on point on top and two points underneath), but that doesn't consistently work.

Anyway, hopefully that "PrintScreen" trick will help someone out there get on the top 3, and if someone here gets the Plasma then they better be inviting me to a Rockets game.

I'm THIS close to getting a perfect score!!! So frustrating!!!

I've had 4 69's all today; that damn middle rack is what throws off my timing.

Okay, I've figured it out; while I haven't scored a perfect game (yet), I've managed about 6 72 games.

The way to do it (as far as what I've done) is zoom in so you get this:

Of course, once that occurs, you have better control over when to shoot. MAKE SURE IT IS DONE ON HIGH QUALITY.

When this happens, however, time is eaten away as I've always been down to the wire at nearly 90 seconds.

There really isn't a 'cheat', but the only thing I can hypothesize (which I haven't tried yet because the other computer isn't connected to the intrnet for some reason) is that these 3 or 4 people are using absolute crap computers, and thus when it happens to run flash games, the speed is drastically cut.

If anybody else is running on a crappy computer, go ahead and give it a shot. Good luck to all.

And yes, this is what my summer consists of (besides waking up at 2 or 3 every day and oging to bed at 3 or 4 in the morning). Ahh summer, how I love thee!
