As many of you know, Clutch and I own a web development company - Two Roads Media - which we founded back in 2002. Rocketeer is our Creative Director and lead graphic designer and does amazing work. Recently, we have added a lot of new projects and are looking for a second designer, particularly someone who is well-versed in Flash. This would NOT be a full-time position. It would be contract work on a per-project basis. We have several projects in front of us right now that need Flash for designs Rocketeer is creating including a stand-alone Flash presentation. We also have a number of other graphic design-related projects that may or may not require some extra help. Rocketeer would remain the lead designer on all of these projects. This could (emphasize could) lead to more work as we are growing faster than I think any of us expected, but, as I said, it isn't enough for full time and would be ideal for a college student or someone working freelance. Also, this is not an office job. You'd work on your computer with your software from your office or home. You can work whenever you like as long as you get the work done on deadline and it is high quality. So, it is flexible, but requires someone pretty disciplined. Skills/Software Required: Macromedia Flash Flash Action Script Adobe Photoshop HTML (intermediate) Basic Win/Mac Office Software (Windows, Acrobat, etc) Macromedia Dreamweaver (not required but helpful) Adobe Illustrator (not required but helpful) Microsoft Power Point (not required but helpful) If you are interested, send your resume/portfolio to info@tworoadsmedia.com. We'll definitely want to see examples of previous work even if it is just personal stuff. For an idea of the level of work we do, check out our portfolio at http://www.tworoadsmedia.com/portfolio.html Thanks!
I got a buddy who does that sort of stuff. Currently attending Houston Art Institute. I'd like to recommend him, although not sure if that would help or hurt considering the source. No seriously though, I've known him for like 9 years, he's a good guy. I'll pass this along.
I should've said that if you want to recommend anyone who doesn't post here, feel free. We are looking at sources other than Rockets fans.
Jeff, I'd be very interested in helping out. I've been working with Flash for quite a while now. My full time job right now is creating Flash animations. I'll email you my info. I meet the requirements and then some but just took a new job that is keeping me busy (and I love it). Good luck finding the right person.
I sent some of my stuff over, and I will try to get my resume and a few other things to you within the next couple of days. If you have any basic questions until that point I can answer them through email or IM. B
