Time, on-time payments and maybe a thread in the Hangout asking for handouts will fix a low credit score.
How did you get a score of 610? Seriously, A good place to fix your credit is at home. There is no magic bullet/service that will fix your Credit Score. You can't simply pay someone to get it in the 700-800 range; you have to pay off your debts and continue to use your available credit wisely and it will eventually go up. How many credit cards/loans do you have? What are the balances and limits? Any outstanding balances?
You might want to order your free credit report. Go here and only here for your free credit report: Annual Credit Report. Your credit report should let you know where and how you screwed up your credit. Skipping payments or late payments are the likely culprit. If you pay on time for a year, your credit score should improve. If you pay down your debt over a year, your credit score should improve. The ratio of credit debt over credit limit needs to decrease.
What is the limit on your credit card? You should keep your credit balance below 30% of your credit limit. You shouldn't open any more credit cards (store credit counts too) because it will lower your credit history which will lower your score. You have a variety of loans (auto, student) so that is good, but you MUST stay current on them to up your score; no late payments. Might be good to set up auto payments. like No Worries said, you should go to annualcreditreport.com and get you a free credit report from the 3 major credit reporting agencies. Maybe you have some cards you forgot about. CreditKarma.com is also a good place to go to simply monitor how you are doing credit wise for free.
Get your free credit report and look at all 3 of them. Find out where you have any negative accounts and take care of them. A few years ago a buddy of mine got denied a credit card, so we looked at his free credit report and he had a negative account with a cable company and a utility company. It turned out they got him and his dad mixed up (same name) and it got cleared.
1. Pay on time 2. Pay down your balances. I believe when your above 40% of your credit limit your score suffers 3. If you have collections I wouldn't dispute them let them turn old or pay them. Having numerous disputed accounts will create a artifical credit score generally a lot higher than before the dispustes..however nobody will lend money with disputes or atleast not a mortgage...credit repair companies are known for this...credit repair companies can be expensive andalot of time a waste of $ 4. If you don't have established credit just need more..apply for a secure card ie orchard bak first premeire...use it for gas and remember keep the balance low 5.tax liens or judgements if you have those make those #1 prioritiy bc frankly those are loan killers no matter what the score is Really if you have a 610 score while not goood is close to a 640 which is what mortgages and car loans were wanting atleast last I heard..I wouldn't pay somebody to fix your credit just do a little research and the score will come up shortly..unless you have a long wrapsheet for your credit
wait 7 years with a clean credit report and then start all over. it's a b****...a long b****, but a damn good lesson. you got to pay for your silliness.
