Hi, I'm looking forward to fixing the gap between my teeths, I know that there's many options that I can choose from: veneers, crowns, bracelet..... but for this type of treatment, it's very expensive without dental coverage. Does anybody have any advice on this type of thing, like what type of treatment to use, and how to get the cheapest cost, just any advice would be great. Thank you
The plural of "tooth" is "teeth". There's no such word as "teeths". "Teets" is a word, however. Are you talking about "teeth" or "teets"?
I believe he meant to type "teefs", but let us not get caught up in semantics ~ we're just here to help... This should take care of that gap.
If you have malocclusion of all your teeth then go and see an orthodontist. I didn't get braces until I was 19 but I was able to work out a payment plan with my ortho and I only had to pay $200 down and then make $50 payments a month. They will usually work with you even if that is out of your price range though.
I wouldn't let anyone give me veneers or crowns. They basically take a drill to your teeth. Saw them down. And put porcelian and/or gold on top of the nubs. I'd either go with braces or try invisalign. Does anyone have experience with invisalign? The removable clear plastic mouthpieces you wear that gradually move the teeth over time, like braces, without gluing the brackets that supportthe wires to the teeth.
Well, braces takes forever, and I know veneers is not natural, but it seems that most the dentist now days use veneers to fix many of the tooth problems.
Go with Crowns. They don't cost much (usually around $500 per tooth or $250 with insurance) and you don't have to go through the time and agony of braces. Since you have gaps you want to fix, I imagine it is your front teeth, so be careful if you decide to go that route because is usually takes a while to have the crowns made. So what they will do is shave your teeth and give you temporary crowns which could look horrible. Make sure you get the all specifics if you do this and plan your social life accordingly.
Veneers - they won't grind it down like a crown, they just glue them on. I've had mine for 20+ years no problems and only my dentist knows. That man did a good job - even he was genuinely proud of his work when he finished. There is one thing though, you can't use whiteners after you get them unless you want your all your teeth white except the 2 front - whitening doesn't work on veneers, they match the color to your existing teeth before applying. If you want white teeth too, get the whitening done before you get your work done, but then you will probably have to keep up the whitening treatments to keep your teeth color even. Dental insurance usually comes through your employer but I'm sure you can get it online somewhere. Just make sure they cover cosmetic dental work because I believe most do not.
