    The rules are:

You can only post ONE song (hear me, Manny!)

You have to find some video of it. Obscure hits don't ever make you "like" music.

    Here's mine:

I liked music at one point. Then Manny Ramirez came along and ruined it for me.

I'm not going to look for a video (sorry, Fatty!), but as best I can remember, it was Roy Orbison's Only the Lonely. I heard that on the radio and I was hooked.

Mine was "Cherokee Bend" by Gordon Lightfoot, but that doesn't make this a good thread.

This song probably started my whole fixation with the eclectic tastes. Not unlike Mozart, I had conducted a symphony on my fisher price piano at the tender age of 4. At 5 I had dismissed Floyd as Zep as pompous wankers and listened only to original recordings of King Crimson while I sipped chai tea. At 8 I discovered Brit-Pop and had a Noel Gallagher Lunchbox. The kids teased me but I knew better than they did. By 10 I was listening to Cohen and Young and bashing Dylan for being too "******* sugary." At 12 I was caught up in Radiohead and my AOL screename fluctuated between fitterhappier69 and planettelex_666. By 14 I had invented my own language and sung it in falsetto while playing my guitar with a violin bow. I opened for Korn in Sioux Falls and was promptly skull****ed off the stage by half the cast of Family Matters. Then some ****sticks from Iceland copied the sound and went on to sooth the quivering assholes of beret-wearing vegans all over the planet. At 17 I lost my creative genius and finally gave into music for what it is... a sound that is perceived with the mind, and then distorted by the perceptions of what popular or anti-conformist opinion should be. It was then that I found the greatest song humanity had ever known. and that song is...
