Just curious when everyone's first time was seeing our favorite team in person? I will go first obviously. Being from North Carolina, not a ton of Rockets fans around here, most are Hornets and quite a few Hawks fans also as I guess Atlanta is not that far away? Anyway, I became a fan simply due to love watching Yao play, our history, etc and been a fan since. My first game was in November '07 when the Rockets played at Charlotte(They were the Bobcats then). Remember eating several hot dogs as my Dad knew a guy who ran one of the carts and got us a deal haha, and cheering us on to the win, Yao in particular with a fantastic game. Never been to a game in Houston yet, but hope too sooner rather than later! https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200711110CHA.html
1972 in the Hoffienz Pavilian. I think Tex Winter was still coach, or it might have been Egan, I was only 8, so hard to remember that far, but Rudy was there, Calvin was there, Mike Newlin - those are the three I recall. I was with my dad, and we sat middle up - and I had never seen a basketball game before, I got hooked.....listened to every game on the radio from that day forward, charting scores, and cheering on the Rockets. Seen them many times in many different venues....and now take my kids..... DD

I don't remember when or who it was against. I just remember being 8 or 9 years old and going to the game at the Summit with my dad. I didn't know anything about basketball but I asked my dad who was good. He pointed at Akeem Olajuwon and said, "Him." He wasn't lying. I've been a fan ever since that night.
