She moved into the duplex in front of my garage apartment by Hermann Park. I kissed her, and then had a date. That's not how it's supposed to work??
It was the first kiss that got me the first date! Ok, here's the story....February 28, 1984...I was out with a group of people I had met a few months earlier when I transferred to a new work location. One girl in particular had caught my eye, and that night we had a good time, dancing and laughing together. She invited everyone back to her apartment to party after the bar closed (this was a common thing for this group of people). After about an hour, I had to leave because I had to work early. She walked me out to her patio and said, in a joking manner, "I'll dream about this night always". I looked her in the eye, grabbed her close, and said "I'll give you something to dream about", then planted a huge kiss on her. I let her go and walked to my car. This October we will have been married 20 years.
new poll - how many of us even have a current significant other? It will be interesting, however, to see how much of it happens within the conventional "we have gone out on official dates and I can name exactly when they were" framework.
Man, I've never really had an issue with kissing my date, but I've started dating this new girl, and I have a problem! I can never get her in a good spot! We've been out twice now, and if I don't make a move soon, I'll soon start getting calls from her about how awesome sex was last night the guy she just met! Any suggestions for good "we are here alone now" situations? I'm good to go once I'm there, but I need to get there first!
One of the things wrong with modern cars is the lack of a bench seat in front. Justing leaning over and planting one on her was always cool, and if things got more intimate after that, you could grop without having a gearshift stick getting in the way. Do you drop her off where you could walk with her to a quiet spot on the way to her door and say, "come here a sec," with a smile, and kiss her? I never really had this problem, although I can think of one instance with this Australian chick in Amsterdam, in the rain, when we were stuck under some eves, it was night, it was romantic, and I was stricken with a fit of politeness. I made up for it later, but I always kicked myself for losing that particular moment. Don't let those moments slip by.
We had worked together for nearly a year and had hung out with friends before, but I got a kiss at the end of the first official date...
Third date for me. First date was out of the question- we didn't know each other and I didn't want to look like a horndog. Second date went well but at the end I didn't feel I should go for it.
We hung out for 3 months as friends before we "dated". But we did have a small kiss at the end of our first date. Moving from friends to dating was an awkward time, but we quickly got past that. 3 months - friends 3 months - dating 3 months - engaged So 9 months after we met, we we're on our honeymoon. By the way... Today is our 16th anniversary!
Went out with a group from work. Went bowling. I walked her home, we kissed. There had been sparks before, but we were both in other relationships at the time, so this was the first opportunity when we were both "available" and the first step beyond basic office flirtation and goo-goo eyes. A few months later we were engaged and living together, a year after that we were married. After we drove off from the reception, our first stop was a bowling alley, where I was so giddy from the experience, that she beat me for the first and only time (so far). On the way out, I made up for it by crushing her at Air Hockey. We now go bowling once a year around our anniversary, so we'll hit the lanes in September to celebrate our 14th.
How do you end the date? Are you in the car? If so, that can be awkward. You can ask to walk her to her door. Or you can invite her over to your place to watch a movie, which should give plenty of opportunity.
When the gig ended, I packed up my equipment and loaded my car. When I arrived back in the club, she was naked in stall #2 in the restroom.
