i was busy playing a game on the internet and then some person messages me and starts telling me all this stuff like what programs im running and what files i have and other various pieces of information i was shocked at first because everything he or she was saying was true then i tried to throw them off and say no those arent mine and then he or she was like dont tell me youre not running a firewall i thought i was at least the firewall xp provides which i checked and it is enabled and then he or she told me that thing isnt a firewall so my question is if its not a firewall what is how do people like that look at others files like he did mine is it legal if not how do you do it is it that easy

Try Zone Alarm works well and it's free/easy.

This is the LONGEST POST I HAVE EVER SEEN without any punctuation at all. We should start limiting the age on CF.net. ;) jk

Here's a BUMP for the other "firewall" thread.

heh......you actually think the Windows firewall is protection??

do yourself a favor and disable that steaming pile of poop and get a real firewall.

    Zone Alarm
    Black Ice defender
    Tiny Personal Firewall

are just a few programs out there that will do a much better job...

do a google serch for "free firewalls" or go to grc.com and see if he still has the page up where he reviews/tests the various firewalls....

as for the rest of your post...Im not sure what else you are asking since my brain locks up when reading a jumble of words with no formatting or punctuation...
