i just set up another user account on windows xp, and went into firefox, but none of the extensions or themes are showing up, is there an easy way to fix that? thanks
and i just installed a theme that screwed it up, andi cant get to the menu to change the theme, it pulls up the them window but its blank and i cant select anything. this new theme crashed and i cant see any buttons or the scrollbar or anything
If you want all the themes and such from another user's account, you'll need to copy the firefox profile from the previous user's account into the new user's account. Also, if you want to fix the theme problem, this will take care of that too. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\OLDUSER\Application Data\ You'll need to have hidden folders turned on in WinXP to see the folders there. Copy the "Mozilla" folder. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\NEWUSER\Application Data\ Paste the Mozilla folder there. Overwrite anything that's there. I'm pretty sure that will work, but I could be wrong. I can't test it b/c I'm on Linux. If it doesn't work, let me know and I can come up with a better/more refined solution.
I have a different question that I hope you guys can help with. My problem is similar in that I was downloading the rockets/spurs game from the GARM and i tried clicking on Firefox. Well I get this message saying that Firefox wont start because of default user setting and that I need to create another user. Well I did that and now Ive lost all of my bookmarks and I really need them. Does anyone know how I can get back to that popup so I can choose the default setting and restore everything? I really would appreciate your help. I apologize in advance if i hijack your thread. I hope we can get both questions annswered in this thread.
Close Firefox completely. Select Start > Run... from the Windows Start menu. Enter "firefox.exe -profilemanager" and press OK in order to get the profile manager to pop up.
