On a side note, the creator of FireFox, Blake Ross, will be speaking in Miami next week. I'm going for the free book he wrote.

    Cuz it's free.

Actually, that is the page for the final release candidate, not the public release. The public release, i.e. Firefox 2.0, will be announced officially tomorrow. As usual, the binaries were built early and are available on the mirror.

    For Windows: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0/win32/en-US/

    For Mac: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0/mac/en-US/

I really like the built in spell check...

not all of the extensions (now called add-ons) work but regardless, it's not bad.

the close button is now on all the tabs by default so thats a nice feature as well (i used to have a extension that took care of that)

I'm scared I'm going to install this to find that some of my extensions don't work.

I installed it, looks nice. Basically looks the same minus a few new pictures and more rounded objects.

i don't really understand the x in the tabs to close them, I used to always just use my mouse wheel to close tabs. I guess this makes it more user friendly though.

oh...and I just noticed the spell check. that's awesome! :D

Yea, been using the beta version for a while. The spell check is a lifesaver on the BBS and elsewhere.

EDIT: Does the spell checker work in conjunction with the Microsoft Word? Or is it just a separate feature of Firefox?

looks nice, again, if you want all of your extensions to work then don't install it, the interface looks improved from the last one. Visually is more pleasing to look at. Seems like a counteraction against the new IE coming out.

I went ahead and installed. The only thing that didn't work was the theme I was using. I think it was called Black Japan.

Is no one having problems with this?? Tabs don't work for me anymore, I can't open links in tabs and when I open a new tab, type in a URL and hit enter it changes the page on my original tab... wtf... I'll try a reinstall I guess...

Edit: Now I can't close those new tabs either....

Edit Last: Nevermind, reinstall fixed all, works like a charm... :)
