Steelers with basically 3 coaches in forever. Texans with 3 coaches in three years...

    Just saying.

I find your post insulting to Lakewood Church.

Whether it's Tomlin, Flores, or whatever, they're inheriting a horrible situation. It's going to take 2-3 years for the fallout of Bill Obrien trading Ferraris for Ford Tauruses to reset. Not to mention the Watson situation.

Of course I doubt any of us expect McNair is lucid enough to know this.

    1. We waste a year of rebuilding
    2. We hired the coach against Watson's wishes, we chose an incompetent coach over the coaches watson want. U can argue that we shouldn't pander to a "sexual abuser", but by doing this stupid hire it set a chain of events that led to Watson not wanting to play with us and his trade value tanking

U could argue that Culley was a fall guy, sure.

But imagine doing all this sht just to hire the coach watson wanted in the first place. Fked up watson trade value/relationship with the franchise just to do the exact thing he wanted last year when he was still willing to play for us. (im assuming if we hired flores).

Basically tanked Watson trade value just to hire an incompetent hc that Easterbunny probably wanted.

We are not even talking about the unprofessionalism and the media sht storm that is currently barraging us for firing Culley.

And Easterby is gonna survive them all. He’ll probably survive Caserio too.

What hint? I hate to just bash a guy, but I don't feel like Brian Smith has ever said anything worth a damn regarding the Texans the entire time I've been following the team.

As the one to create the fire BoB thread, what's your thoughts on potentially hiring another ex=Pat personnel as HC in another quest to b Patriots of the South. which one do u prefer if we r going this route?

I believe a lot of former Belichick staff have been fired from coaching jobs the past 2 years. It aint pretty.

I don't know **** about **** when it comes to HC candidates.

It does feel a bit pathetic that we're still going to the Patriots well to fish for success.

But, Caserio deserves a chance to get his guy and make it work. I won't second guess the hire.

My only thought is that what happened with BOB (here for THREE YEARS TOO LONG) should never happen again.

Once a coach shows you who they are, believe them, thank them for their service, and move on.

If they hire Flores, things could turn around quickly especially if he can persuade Watson to stick around.

Would be interesting to see how the community acts if he is brought back, but this team's fan base would flip-flop in a second.

The excuses and attacks on the women would be breathtaking.

Don’t underestimate Easterby’s role in the Texans’ shenanigans. His fingerprints are all over the Culley firing and the search for his replacement. It’s well-known around NRG Stadium how much Easterby loves Mayo and believes he should be a head coach. And if Easterby loves Mayo, you know Caserio does, too.

Caserio said the Texans would cast a wide net to find a replacement for Culley. An assistant with only three years on a staff would be easier to control.

What was unsaid, of course, is the new coach better agree with the assistant coaches Caserio recommends. He has to be onboard with Mills entering his second training camp as the starter. He must not have an issue with Caserio playing the role of assistant coach in practice. And the new coach should appreciate having Caserio on a headset to communicate with him during games as he’s done with the Texans and Patriots and will continue to do.

The new coach must have a philosophy that meshes with Caserio.

Offensively, Caserio wants to build a consistently productive running game that takes pressure off an intelligent, efficient quarterback who doesn’t throw a lot of interceptions. He wants a tough, smart and dependable defense that’s built around stopping the run and pressuring the quarterback from every angle.

    That’s the Patriot Way.

    Mike Tomlin
VMI (1995) — Wide receivers coach
    Memphis (1996) — Graduate assistant
Arkansas State (1997) — Wide receivers coach
Arkansas State (1998) — Defensive backs coach
Cincinnati (1999–2000) — Defensive backs coach
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2001–2005) — Defensive backs coach
Minnesota Vikings (2006) — Defensive coordinator
Pittsburgh Steelers (2007–present) — Head coach

Tomlin was 34 at the time of his hire with one year of coordinator experience.

Mayo is 35 years old (36 in February) with no years of coordinator experience. (At least not his title. Not sure if he’s calling plays for NE or not).

    Jerod Mayo
New England Patriots (2019–present) — Inside linebackers coach

No, Brian T. Smith was not the only one who picked up on the Tomlin/Mayo thing…

They better be damn sure they get their top coaching choice. If they didn’t already have someone lined up before firing Culley then it’s another strike against management.

There is no reason to go from one stop gap coach to another. It would be Texan like to fire their temp coach and then settle for another one.

Stanford Routt from sports radio 610 was on Colin Cowherd’s show. He said the Texans aren’t worried about winning championships, they want to win the “right” way. They would rather lose with the “right” people rather than win with the “wrong” guys.

If Watson wins a superbowl for the Texans
People will offer their daughters, sons, wives and animals on a golden alter to him

    Football IS that important here

How was a year of rebuilding wasted?

If Davis Mills is your attempted future QB, wouldn't it be nice if he could have had an extra year in the offensive system of the new coach and have some continuity instead of having to re-learn all from scratch? Wouldn't it have been nice during the last draft to know what kind of team you're building, who your OC and DC are, and drafted players ideally suited for that system? Let all the players learn the new system instead of playing in a system that's not relevant going forward?
