Not that it would necessarily happen, but would you prefer to see the Rockets go hard after Finley and keep Taylor or go hard after Weber and keep Anderson. Lineup 1 -------- Finley Taylor Center Francis Mobley Lineup 2 -------- Anderson Weber Center Francis Mobley Obviously there are other choices but of these 2 lineups, which do you prefer? ------------------
If Finley leaves Dallas this summer, I will run naked through the 5th ward. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
The chance of Finley coming here is 5%. It's a done deal in Dallas. Now we have a really good shot at Webber, but I'm afraid that if we wait too long for him, we might have no Webber, no Taylor, and no Anderson. Also, would Webber screw the Kings out of compensation? I love your Lineup 2 This is gonna be a great offseason if we just don't watch the draft. ------------------

Forget Webber. Trade for Brand, sign Jackson & draft a SF. No matter what happens with the rest of the season, the dream casting is about to begin anew. ------------------

I say let Anderson go. If we get Battier you will forget all about Anderson trust me. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
May be true, but I think around where our picks will be Battier will be gone. I like him, but I think in the tournament he may have played himself into a top 10 pick, out of our range. The best option for a long, athletic, defensive 3 may be Terence Morris for us. I'd still try and keep Shandon if we could sign him for cheap-- but if he expects more than Cuttino makes-- say 5 mil per year to stay, then let him go. He just isn't worth it, period. His offense is non-existent almost all the time, he cannot dribble the ball, and his defense that so many people try and use to keep him from criticism has been just about average for most of this year. Nothing special about that either. If we could draft someone like Morris I think he and Langhi longterm could be a pretty solid SF duo. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have Battier, but I think he may be out of our range unless we can find a way to trade up. ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." if were going to dream cast i say get jamal mashburn, chris webber, and resign dream this offseason and have a lineup like this: C lajuwon pf:webber sf:mashburn sg:mobley pg:francis ------------------ http://www.democrats.com mgh 1925-2001
Lil Francis, I just think we will have a harder time getting Shane than many think.I see him going high despite what some may say. Also,I look at him and see a player with less upside, yet,a player that is fundamentally sound and is a guarranteed solid NBA player...but without much upside..sort of like J. Howard.Hell,I like him. There may not be any reason why we can't have both...who knows? As far as Shandon,I look at him and how he will compliment our additions this summer.I think the Francis Mobley,Anderson trio will match up with the Athletic front court which we aspire to have....and if Battier comes our way, cool, but I wouldn't count on it. ------------------ If I had my life to live over,I would have liked to have ended up as a sportswriter - Richard M. If Shandon opt's out of his contract, I would think that our reputation would be okay, because his contract runs until next year & everyone knows that the team is going to make a run at Webber. It would be his decision to not fulfill the contract. Just because a player has an option, doesn't mean that he has to use it. My guess is that the option was originally put in to offer him an out if the Rockets didn't use him or show signs of improvement. I have no doubt that the team will pay him his full bird rights next year or work out a sign-n-trade that would pay him more than he could get on the open market. If he opt's out, make him as fair an offer as you can afford to & if that's not enough, then let him go, by his own choosing. The questions he has to ask himself are: Do I stay & wait for my full bird rights? Do I take early bird rights? Or, do I opt out in order to get all the money that I can, which could very well be on another team, instead of letting the Rockets gather the final pieces this off season to make this a championship team for years to come? ------------------
Or we snake bitten or what? We don't make the playoffs but you say to yourself atleast we have the lottery and then when we get to the lottey all the damn good players are gone When will the break come ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Don't speak too soon... Dream is back! And that break will come courtesy of Mr. Chris Webber. ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." "We want a higher seed. why cat, bravo, i must say, bravo..good detective work watson.. ------------------ How Sweet It Is! How Sweet It Is! Gene Peterson on the rockets winning the 1995 championship over the Orlando Magic
Yes,we have a fighting chance now.If Dream comes back and plays like he was before he left, then it should be close. It's weird, the Rockets seem to make up for some bonehead, high firstrounders with great deals, free agents, and sleeper picks...... and I totally agree on Webber...... ------------------ If I had my life to live over,I would have liked to have ended up as a sportswriter - Richard M.
