if this is true then i am really glad that both denver and seattle will be on the second of back to backs coming into toyota center.
I hope the Denver and Memphis game on Friday go tripple OT till mid-night, and Memphis pull out a win.
SAC, HOU and DEN are all racing for the 6th seed in order to play SEA. SAC may lose 2 to get 50:32, Den can get 50:32 if they only lose to HOU, HOU can get to 50:32 with 3 win. In this case, HOU get the 6th seed. If DEN lose to HOU and 1 other team, it will be the 7th seed. If SAC only lose 1, it will be the 5th seed for sure. HOU will be in a very managable position if HOU defeat DEN on Saturday. SAC(48:30) 15 @LAL 16 @PHX 18 @UTA 20 PHX HOU(47:31) 13 MEM 16 DEN 18 LAC 20 SEA DEN(46:31) 13 NO 15 MEM 16 @HOU 18 @PHX 19 POR
Now, I dont like to moan over what's happend already. But that loss to Hornets is a real biatch that's going to hurt us if we lose to Denver. Had we won that one, we just need two out of last 4 to beat out Denver for the 6th spot. We do not want to play Spurs. Ducan is fine, dont be fooled by Pop.
It may not be a bad thing, because SAC may fall behind HOU to grab the 6th seed. If SAC intentionaly lose 3 to finish 49:33 and HOU win 3 and defeat DEN, SAC will get the 6th seed.
We would rather face them 2nd round. Let Denver fight them hard first. Kmart is going to hurt somebody.
Well, if DEN gets 49 wins, and assuming HOU is ahead of DEN, SAC will be the 6th becuase SAC holds the tie breaker to DEN. If DEN gets 50 and SAC 49, HOU will not get 6th seed, either 5 or 7.
Everyone's going to want to play Seattle. I'm afraid the Kings might be tempted to fall back. C'mon Sacramento, run the table! Rooting for anything but the #6 seed is crazy. Sadly, it seems to me that the Kings lose the tiebreaker if they end up tied with Houston, so I'm bracing for that Mark Cuban gloatfest we are going to probably have to endure in a couple of weeks.
I'm sure it's been posted elsewhere, but if (1) Seattle loses all but one game; (2) the Rockets win out; and (3) the Kings hold on to the 5th seed, then the Rockets will have HOME COURT in the first round against the Sonics! Even with their injuries, I doubt Seattle will lose out (they play the Hornets). Still, this scenario is entirely possible.
Gentlemen, let's step outside the box for a moment. Currently, 1 game separates Sacramento from Denver. Let's examine Sacto's schedule as they're also a big factor in this discussion: Sacramento @Lakers, 4/15 --> predicted W @Phoenix, 4/16 --> predicted L @Utah, 4/18 --> predicted W Phoenix, 4/20 --> predicted W Final record = 51-31, 5th place Denver Memphis, 4/15 --> predicted W Houston, 4/16 --> predicted W @Phoenix, 4/18 --> predicted L Portland, 4/19 --> predicted W Final record 50-32, 7th place Houston Denver, 4/16 --> predicted L Clippers, 4/18 --> predicted W Seattle, 4/20 --> predicted W Final record 50-32, 6th place By virtue of tiebreaker, I think we finish 6th.
With Denver coming off a game against a tough, Memphis team the night before I really don't see how they are going to have the energy to come back and beat us at home. At this point, I really wouldn't be surprised if we win out. Sacremento has got a tough 4 game schedule ahead of them---2 of which vs. Phoenix. Not to sound like a p***y, but we would be wise to "rest" T-Mac and/or Yao for either the Clippers or Sonics game. I really want to keep this 6 seed.
