Thought the Finals deserves a thread for each game. This series should be fun. Now if I can just convince the gf to do girls night out so I can watch these.
IF I were rooting for a team in this series, it would be Boston (UGH that made me feel dirty just typing that ) and it pleases me to see JVG calling this one, he really has found his calling imo.
considering how nervous i am just watching at home, i don't know how the players are dealing with it.
its hard for me to root for either team but if i have to choose the lesser of two evils it would have to be the celtics
boston grabbing offensive rebounds, kobe taking 3 tough fadeaways out of 3 shots. the 2 things i worried about most.
why is kobe settling for jumpers when he is ice cold? their double teams have been soft right now. kobe needs to attack and weather this storm.
to make me mad? you could see it coming. much more contested jumpers (active D vs passive D) and his lack of a long range jumper all playoffs combining to not be good for the lakers.
Was it just me or was there a technical issue with the introduction when the announcer was introducing one of the Lakers bench player, but instead it showed "Scalabrini" (sp?) on the caption? Or was I just hallucinating?
pj brown continuing his miracle playoff run with that shot. kobe trying to set a field goals attempted record or something. james posey continuing to not be afraid of cheap rough play. a close game so far. hopefully garnett continues his career long aversion to being aggressive offensively for a whole game b/c he could kill the lakers every time down if he wanted.
he's been on fire with 17 foot and in face up jumpers. on 3's and longer jumpers (and the tough 18 foot fadeaways) he has very much not been on fire. it's been his consistent ability to get the 17 foot and in shot that has made him so deadly. settling for these shots will not be good unless the long range shot comes back.
kobe was 2-8, his teammates were 8-12. kobe could have easily tried to rack up assists in that quarter.
