I waited a few games before I made any comments on how much I love Kyle Lowry, but that time definitely arrived. What pushed me over into starting this thread was that ridiculous cross court pass that he had to Von Wafer and then as I write this he has that ridiculous dish to Landry for that and 1 dunk.

What I love about Kyle Lowry:

    1. The kid is tough, hard nosed and loves to play defense. I think it pays huge divedends now but I can't wait to see this in the playoffs when halfcourt basketball dominates. No longer will the likes of Dfish or Dwill be killing us such as in the days of rafer.

    2. His vision and bball IQ is amazing, I haven't seen a pass that disliked from this kid. His passes to Yao in the post has been pin point and I love when he gets the ball on the fast break because it's almost guaranteed two points. In short when he gets the ball he's decisive and always makes the right pass.

    3. Boy I am glad the days of Rafer's wuss floaters are no more. When Lowry gets to the basket as many here have witnessed and expounded on, the kid looks for contact and finishes strong. It's so refreshing to see this especially since the Rockets have missed a PG like this for a while now. I know he may not have a 3 pt shot but whenever he takes one, it's a smart three that was run through a play. I have yet to see a 3 where he pulls up and chucks one up with plenty of time on the shot clock.

    4. Morey is Deity

Oh by the way Landry is the BOSS!

Agree on points 1 and 2, STRONGLY Agree on point 3.

It's almost comical how Rafer contorts his body to avoid contact. I've never seen a guard with such good handles going up with such crappy layups. It just doesn't correlate.

Kyle Lowry and Aaron Brooks are both great in their own ways. I'd take either to start.. right now though, Lowry's chemistry with the bench is great so I would keep him there.

Great thread...I agree with you on all you points.

This is basically what I was saying the day we traded for him and the majority of the people were thinking I was stupid. The guy got game and he never really got a chance to unleash his talent.

and he also tells players where to go when he doesn't have the ball, a true floor general

This kid still has to improve his 3s and I think we still need more games to see what he is really made up of

I'm a big Aaron Brooks fan but the more I watch Lowry the he just seems to make the right descisions and he just seems more consistent.

I think we are really in a good position with our PG's and it will be interesting to see if Lowry is the eventual starter.

Best thing about Lowry, and the thing that differentiates him from Brooks, is that he sees the game like a point guard should. Brooks is more of a "drive into the lane and hope to create an opening for someone" guy, while Lowry seems to know what is likely to develop BEFORE he gets into the lane.

All in all, I feel more comfortable with Lowry as PG than I have for any Rockets PG since... since... sorry, I can't remember. Seriously.

I like your effort but come one. Derek Fisher and Deron Williams are veterans and will get that veteran's call. In the playoffs everything changes. It's a different game. Yes he is playing great now in the season but in the playoffs teams defenses are much tougher. Mind me the pass couple of games we haven't played teams that are that good. Tomorrows game will be a great test. You should have waited one more day before making this thread :D

I was suspicious when Morey said that Lowry was an upgrade over Rafer, but now I see what he meant. Kyle Lowry can do things that Rafer had never done in his career, and he's only going to get better.

Lowry is the pg we have been waiting for. I know we always wanted a pg that could shoot, but I think Lowry fits everything else but that prerequisite... age, physique, great bball iq, defensive minded, draws fouls, great passing technique, good chemistry already with the other players... I mean what more can we really ask for? His shooting mechanics look pretty good, so I think a summer or two in the gym would do wonders for his 3 pt shooting ability.

kyle lowry reminds me of a young steve francis except he has a brain. the way he drove and finished with contact was vintage francis. once he improves his jumpshot he's going to be a surefire starter in this league.

like someone said, he's a great floor general. hes already calling out plays his 6th game here, and he looks much calmer than brooks.

I hope he goes into the playoffs healthy as we have seen that he does not avoid contact. So this is sort of a reverse jinx to the thread. :D

It has been a while since I've seen a rocket make a pass like lowry did to landry for the dunk.

    maybe mcgrady last year?

He's starting to play much more under control, and shows a surprising comfort level for a being new to the team. He's clearly a very intelligent player.

In his last 5 games, he has 39 points, 20 assists and only 2 turnovers in 83 minutes (average of 16.9 points and 8.7 assists per 36min).
