This is a defining moment. Yes I know it is early but we have seen the full scale return of the dribble from Steve. We have seen the end of ball movement and player movement, all components that JVG was supposed to change and in fact started the season with. But we can see the fairly swift return of old faithful. While JVG called the team fragile last week, I am tending to ask if JVG is not the fragile one. If fragile is too strong, is stubborn a better word?

JVG was asked why is he not playing Amec and he said there is no room for a 3rd center. Crap! Who does he think we are? Fools?
When two PF's are out and you are playing one center at PF there is room for 3rd center or 2.5 centers, if you will. In this game and in the Suns game, we went with Braggs at center during certain times. Is Ame so poor a player? I do not think so; not when you have two offensively challenged players in Cato and Braggs even if you do not include Ming, who also seem to be challenged himself recently.

The rockets are last in the league is fga. That is because the team has decided to not fastbreak. Why? Maybe because the TO's were getting too high. So every possession is a walk up. I say forget about the TO's because today you had 25 TO's walking up the ball every time. In the early games we moved the ball and players and as an initial change in style you can expect some miscues but to go back to having the ball all possession long in SF's hands is like bringing back Rudy T to coach. While we were high in TO's we were getting many open shots all over the court. Now we are not and we are stubbornly trying to get Ming to deliver and that is not happening. Go back to early offense and get the ball out of SF's hands. Swing the ball and get some space for Ming and your penetrators and get the defense guessing instead of slowly bring up the ball and giving the defense its' best shot of stopping you.

Talking about stubborness, how many times would we have to see that Cato leaving his man was killing us in the Raptors game. It is not like Carter was killing us. The trapping worked with the suns with Marbury and it worked initially with the raptors but it was very stupid to keep on doing it. One would have thought that JVG would have had better plays for us late in the 4th Q and overtimes. Every morning you wake up Ming is 7-6 but what are you doing about that JVG, if we can, on the road, not get this 7-6 guy to deliver any points for us in the late 4th Q and overtime?

So are they really fighting JVG? Francis and Cat? I mean, how can a point guard like Francis have a whopping two assists in two games?

I saw Barkley on TV after the Dallas game, and one could see that he was trying not to say too much, but he did say Francis and Mobley are fighting Van Gundy.

    What needs to be done?

this is absolutely the last thing i wanted to hear this season. i'll be damned if the rockets start going back to sh!tty Rudy-ball. completely unexcusable.

i haven't caught the past few games so i cant really say who's to blame or who's playing poorly, but when you see your starting point guard rack up two assists in two games something isn't right.

if certain players are defying JVG, then JVG needs to ship em out. plain-n-simple.

Come on,it isnt that bad. Steve is an allstar and isnt going anywhere and Mobley is a near allstar. He is one of the best shooters in the league and got 8 ASSISTS versus Suns and that won us the game. Mobley knows his role. He shouldnt be traded. The problem is that Toronto is reeeeally good. Lets give them their props. The rockets played with all their heart and thats all that matters for me.

You need to play with your mind, not just your heart.

Being an All-Star doesn't mean squat, it means that the fans like your once-in-a-while flashy dunks, or your high scoring average. All-Star player doesn't automatically equal a smart player, nor does it indicate a winner.

Hope Rockets will bring in a good PG soon, Cat may be a good bait, If we can get one without giving Cat away that's even better, it will give rockets 3 scoring powers.
