    Robinson nets PFW honor

Pro Football Weekly named cornerback Dunta Robinson its 2004 Defensive Rookie of the Year, the publication announced Tuesday.

Voting was conducted by PFW editors as well as the Pro Football Writers of America. Robinson led the Texans and all NFL rookies with six interceptions, adding 85 tackles, three sacks, three forced fumbles and 19 passes defensed. Robinson finished second to Jets linebacker Jonathan Vilma in the Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year balloting.

That's awesome. Congrads to Dunta. Take that you COH's (Casserly Only Haters). Just joking around.

Seriously, we hit the jackpot with that pick, it's not easy finding an impact corner. And he's a good kid (presumably)

He is a "playmaker," always into something. INTs, tackles, sacks.

Babin will have an impact next year, can't wait.

What I love about Dunta is his tackling ability and willingness to lay the big hit. How many CB's are known for being hard nosed? Carr, AJ, and D-Rob will be representing the Texans in the probowl for years to come. Kudos to Casserly for the solid first round picks.

I was watching "Hey, Rookie" or something like that on ESPN 2 and they were chronicling this year's rookies: Roy Williams, Big Ben, etc, week by week. I just happened to tune in when they showed Dunta's game against the Jets, I think it was. He missed a coverage assignment and let Wayne Chrebet get a critical first down. Texans call TO, and the defensive coordinator gets all in his face about assignments. Next play, Dunta comes out in zone coverage and gets a huge interception. He brings the ball right in front of the coordinator, slams it to the ground and says "I got your back, don't worry about it!"

Gotta love rookies...hell, gotta love PLAYERS who can comeback like that one play later.

In that context, it seems rather disrespectful.

Congrats to Dunta. He is a great pick for the Texans and should be a solid contributor for years to come. One of the best looking rookie corners I have seen in years. He was the real deal and really has the total package...

That was tough coming from a Titans fan!!! ;)
