Since we are no longer chasing the playoffs we are now chasing the lottery. looking at the bottom of the NBA standings. we are currently 11th from last place right now with 14 games to go. Seattle, Golden State, Minnesota, and Boston are all within 2 games of us. Chances are if we keep losing games all these teams will pass us up leaving us with the 7th pick in the draft. All these teams are doing more than us right now so its very likely they pass us in the standings. With the 7th pick there will be alot of quality guys available, Joakim Noah, Rodney Carney, Brandon Roy, Sheldon Williams
I don't know any of those guys. I only just hope we can get someone who's smart, can learn the game, read the game, make a reasonable and logic decision on the court, and make it quickly. Am I asking too much?
I think at the 7th pick you are not asking too much.. the way the draft looks now Morrison, Aldridge, and Gay will go in some order the in top 3. After that there is the Euro Baraginni and all the college kids. i personally like Carney and Roy. Carney is 6'7 205 will be a good 2 guard. can defend and has freakish athleticism. Roy smaller not as athletic but huge basketball IQ. Noah would be a 7 foot kirelinko playing the 4 spot. (if he continues what he did in tourney time)
i was about to make the exact same post. we can drop as low as 7 considering that we never win w/o tmac. realistically i can see us anywhere from 7-9. in that range, i like all of your picks. you left out jj redick. i would say roy is my favorite right now if i had to pick. redick and williams are close. overall i would be happy with any of these guys.
I think Reddick falls in after the 10 spot. There will be too many young big men going early. McRoberts, Noah, Thoamas, Baragni, Williams will all probably end up going ahead of Reddick. Roy and Carney have the defense and the size we are looking for in the 2 spot. Speaking of our record with who we play i see us winning 2-3 more games the rest of the way. We could concieveably fall all the way to the 5th spot. I think the 7th or 8th is where we end up. Also our lottery percentage goes way up. at the 11th we have 0.8% chance of getting into the top 3, at the 7th spot it goes up to 4.3% that is an increase of more than 5 times. We need to get our scouting deptartment in gear because this is going to be an important pick, and there will be alot of options. I think seeing the way the season went they are going to go after one of the top 2 G/F out there.
