I'm not asking who should close games, because that's a different question. Harden is like 2 for 4 in game winners last season (someone please correct me if I'm wrong). So which Rocket should have the ball with less than 24 seconds left in the game:

Harden - drive, dish, 3, medium range jumper
Howard - can somewhat play with his back to the basket, pump fake for an easy dunk if the ball is dropped off to him after someone cuts, pass out when the defense collapses, and he's still above 50% from the line
Parsons - tall shooter, can penetrate but shaky handles
Lin - drive, dish, shaky 3 pointer, good finisher within 8 feet of the basket

Howard has the highest chance of getting fouled, but the highest chance of turning the ball over. Harden seems to rely on drawing fouls too much. Parsons doesn't seem to do well unless he gets a good look from three, and Lin seems to have more turnovers than successful possessions in the closing moments of the game.

Harden is our best offensive player, let him do P&R with Dwight for a drive, pullup, or pass to a rolling Dwight

    Harden. No question.

Good blend of driving, free throw shooting, 3 point shooting, shot creating, ability to pass etc.

Harden or Howard, and if we really have to, then Lin. No way I want Parsons with the ball in the final possession unless he's wiiiiiiiide open. Dude can't create a shot. I still remember that one game where he tried to pull a Harden ISO at the end of a quarter and ended up tripping and losing the ball.

The only answer is Harden. How does Lin have 3 votes?

Harden, unless someone else has an unusually hot hand that night.
I think he still needs to trust his teammates more at the end of games though. Both Lin and Parsons have shown that they step up in clutch situations.

I will say Harden too. The pick and roll with him and Howard might be special. Harden can really roll, but his mid range jumper is the last thing I want in that situation. I would rather see Howard get the ball and cut with defenders closing in on him.

There are more centers who can defend their position than shooting guards (which is the worst defended position in the league). That's why if you have a SG who can score, you should always go to him.

It's going to be harden, even if he may not be the best choice that night.

What if Howard develops a go to move? Maybe a spin move, or a quick turnaround hook shot after backing down his man. He is working out with Hakeem and McHale afterall.

Harden to draw defensive attention but the hard part is to have him get the ball to the open man. ISO Harden proved to be a failure last year.
