Wow, what are the odds of this? At an official after party for the movie 4 people were stabbed. And if that wasn't crazy enough, in Greensboro, NC the guy who plays Biggie was watching the movie at a theater where a guy was shot twice in the lobby.
Well, what are the chances of a Tupac biopic? I guess we'll have to settle for The Story of Soulja Boy.
That woulda been messed up if the actor who played Biggie got shot and died while watching the movie about Biggie on opening night...
seriously, i went to watch this in downtown chicago on opening night... and there were cops with bulletproof vests and guns. nothing happened, but it was unreal for a movie premiere.
Well, the first article says the night club "advertised" itself as the official after party; but without any genuine connection to the production, this really doesn't mean anything, at all. Basically the place probably had a few more people there than usual, in what may or may not be a moderate crime area, which made it a more likely setting for some kind of situation: movie opening or not.
puffy is behind this to promote the movie, no doubt about it;or the people were arguing who was the better rapper.
I bet it was because people were talking during the movie. http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/12/27/movie.shooting/index.html?eref=rss_topstories
And I really wanted to give these BoZoS a shot by going to this movie... now I don't know if I will even contribute anything... not even on a RedBox $1 rental. I joked with my wife about seeing this movie later... but not anymore... she was right: "Are you sure you want to get shot or stabbed? We're not going to see that movie tonight." Hotel for Dogs was funny, though.
When Lil Wayne rolled around my town for I am Music, the cops literally put a 1 mile radius where they just shut all the traffic down around the stadium (and this was in the downtown core!). It was nuts. I had a friend's brother working security and apparently there were upwards of a hundred undercover cops. That's not to mention the ones in uniform AND a SWAT Team/Police van on standby. They even put out broadcasts on the radio warning people to keep away. I guess they were expecting gangbangers to just show up and off one another. now, uh, I'm not going to say it's racism, but you sure as hell don't see this much security for say a death metal concert...and some of the s*** those guys yell is much worse then anything Notorious or Wayne or any hip-hop artist has ever spit.
