I have COD4 - Modern Warfare and NBA 2K9

 

Had it in my hands yesterday at a local wal-mart but decided to wait. Wanted to catch some reviews first.

 

Bought it on 360 yesterday... The gameplay is really different with new controller configs. I only played it 4 about 20 minutes, but it seemed to be pretty good.

I think the game is a step down from Round 3, which I still play.

The fighters feel kinda clunky, they don't seem to respond correctly to the moves. The physics are amazing though, so many little details that add to the experience, but it still falls flat for me. The graphics are also a step down, they went with a more cartoony look this time, and the fighters throw way too many punches. Its very arcadey. And if you aren't accustomed to using the stick in Round 3 then Round 4 will frustrate the living hell outta you. It will take a while to really get the moves down, otherwise you will just be "stick mashing" because for the most part, the fighter won't throw the punches you want.

Its faster paced but slower, if that makes sense. It just feels slow. Sick roster though, the downloadable content will be good too.

Definitely worth a rent, actually I would recommend you rent it before you buy it. Even if you are set on buying it.

 

I think its the best boxing gamt to date and also the most realistic. You can actually fight inside!
The stick control is fine. If you can do moves in Street Fighter or any other game, you can surely throw jabs and hooks with the right stick. Its very responsive also. I also like how they took out those cheap right/left hook blocks that would magically stop you in your tracks. Blocking is now more realistic. Best and biggest roster in a boxing game ever, of course you have to unlock most. Legacy mode is bad ass too. You can also download user created fighters like Money May or even everyones favortie syrup drinker, Lil Wayne.

this blows out round 3. i hate button mashers. i hope they dont come out with a button download or anything.

my first couple fights have gone 9 to 10 rounds (maybe cuz i suck?). it's a little more realistic than round 3, 2, 1 and knockout kings where u can knock people out in the first 3 rounds

 

My friend picked it up and we played for a few hours yesterday. I liked it but I don't think it's better than UFC '09.

 

I've played the demo a couple of times and I've always gotten a knockout in 3 rounds or so.
