not sure if this is posted already... http://www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fc/inte/vide/inte/p/langid/1/newsid/23380/inte.html USA - Backstage interview with Daryl MOREY [Video] ROMA (NBA) - Scouts of leading teams from Europe and America travel all over the continent looking at talent. General Managers also like to see first hand how good youngsters are before signing them to a contract or selecting them in the NBA draft. The GM who pulled out all stops to get Argentina international Luis Scola to the Houston Rockets, Daryl Morey, watched Croatian sensation Ante Tomic at a EuroCup game in Zagreb and spoke to FIBA.
well damn... at least we know that Daryl Morey is serious about his job and the future of the rox... whats the overall worth and ability of Ante Tomic
Morey mentioned having been in Barcelona, Serbia, then going to Milan. That could be the following games AXA FC Barcelona v Lottomatica Roma, KK Zagreb v SD Transko Olympia, and AJ Milano v Le Mans. Which would bring up these names: Albert Moncasi PF/C, Alejandro Hernandez PG, Xavier Rabaseda SG/SG, Fran Vasquez PF/C (drafted), Roko Leni-Ukic PG (drafted), Ante Tomic C (late 1st round), Danilio Gallinari SF (lottery), Nicolas Batum SG/SF (lottery)
hmm..so we can't expect any moves or trades for now? Morey is not in the country..hope this team don't stand pat
Morey was asked where he had been on this trip. There was never a statement that he does not or would not go to Asia. Somehow I believe Morey and the Rox would be willing to employ an Asian basketballer, or 15, if the team would benefit.
In this era of global communications, not to mention staffs, I suspect Morey and the Rox might be able to do biz anywhere at anytime.
