Alright, Horry apparently declined his option with the Spurs and has expressed interest to go and play in Miami.

Also, the Celtics said they won't pick up Payton for next season, so he is FA now.

Also, Raja Bell says he is interested to play in Pheonix with Nash (they are good friends).

Just three names that were mentioned just a few minutes ago on ESPN.

Now, do you think the Rockets should try to pursue any of these guys? I really like all of them pretty much, especially Bell and Horry if they can be had for cheap (I don't know if they can be had for cheap, just a speculation since I don't see tons of money being thrown their ways).

    My thoughts:

Horry is likely to sign either with Miami or San Antonio.

    Gary Payton = pass

Raja Bell is reported to have already signed (agreed to sign) with Phoenix.

I would like to add Raja Bell but if he signs with Phoenix I have no choice but to officially hate him.

Played for the Mavs, Jazz and now maybe the Suns?

I like Payton at the league minimum. He would be an upgrade, but not part of the proposed youth movement.

I also would not mind Horry playing his last season as a Rocket, but he might since in SA or Miami he would have a better shot for one more ring.

His last season? He's probably looking for a two-year deal because of his playoff performance.

Say no to Raja Bell. Rockets already picked Luther Head, who is the younger and cheaper version of Bell, but with much more upside.

Actually, we could use Payton for the league minimum if Mike James is involved in a trade.

    Youth movement= L. Head/V. Span

We could use both Horry and Bell. Bell's a sharpshooting, defensive-minded veteran. Head's unproven and should be playing PG anyways. Horry would stretch out the defense, make smart plays, and would be oh so clutch.

I don't think we'll get either of them, but we shouldn't need them anyways.

bell said everything is just about done with the suns.

horry is either going with the spurs or heat, we aren't of championship quality yet, and yao isn't the most dominant yet.

payton i would consider for the minimum. i would like to see him here to teach head. (damn that dounded bad, sorry). he could really help bring him along while providing better defense, better shooting, and better decision making than sura.

what a weird offseason it would be if we got walker and payton.
