To all the music experts around here, I need your help. Im selling my Red & White Fender Guitar, Amp, case, stand, electric tuner, extra strings, and cleaning case. I bought this about 5-6 years ago and I barely played it then and its been rotting away for 5 years collecting dust, so its in great conditition. I wanted to know how much should I sell it for? I already have an ad on craigslist for $200 and I have 2 serious buyers but I was wondering am I selling it too low? How much would you sell it for. Here are pictures of the guitar: The blue one is not the actual guitar its the only picture i could find with the actual amp, case, and guitar. Just imagine that guitar but red like in the other picture. *These are not pictures I took due to the fact I dont own a camera*
Neither are very good, but Squier is Fender's bottom of the line. If you're getting $200 for it, you are doing well.
Squires may be bottom of the line Fenders, but at least they are Fenders. much better than those Strat knockoffs that you can get at Walmart for like 99 bucks hey RMT(or anyone else that wants to chime in) Im needing to sell my old bass, and I cant find much information online about it to get an idea of waht a fair price would be, some advice here would be appreciated. Samick 5 string, maroon with gold hardware, active electronics, near perfect condition with the heavy duty case. works just like new, I went to a sweet Ibanez acoustic bass for greater flexibility in where I could actually play it without pissing off my girls. sorry to piggyback the thread, but I figure you got a good answer, and I dont really like starting threads. Hope ya dont mind.
i dont know too much about that particular brand, but it wouldnt hurt to throw it up on craigslist for $175-$200 or so and see if anyone bites. the fact that its a 5 string will definitely be a selling point for someone. as far as the thread starter, im with rmt - if you can get $200 for it i would take it. honestly, if you get $200 for a used squire and practice amp you are doing pretty good. EDIT: i dont mean to knock squires - ive played some that sound great. my bandmate 10 years ago played a squire telecaster. sounded great and looked really cool too. exactly like this one...
That seems a lot like this package which sells new for $300: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Squier-Start-Playing-HSS-Strat-Pack-with-150-DSP?sku=512576 So I think you're doing good at $200. Just be sure to tell your prospective buyers that it's a Squire and not a Fender.
no doubt Im hoping jo mama is a little low in his estimate, cause it was $600 for the bass and the case was like 125 brand new. From what I have been able to find out, Samick is a fairly well respected maker of stringed instruments, they seem to be more geared towards pianos and such these days. I think thats why Im having so much trouble finding a current equivalent to compare it to.
I agree with RocketmanTex.. There are even different levels of Squire in regards to quality. The older Japanese versions are cool junk. The Indonesian stuff is just pure junk. From hardware to wood to fretwork. Garbage. Take the $200.00 and be thankful it's out of your house is my personal opinion. That could change if winter hits hard and firewood is scarce... Cheers, Brock
2K...I wouldn't list the Samick bass for more than $250 on Craigslist. Google your model....there are a few for sale out there in the $200-250 range.
thats about the range I was going for RMT I figured what with condition + quality of the instrument + case would be worth 250-300. I can live with the low end of that as long as someone gets some pleasure out of playing it....I certainly did.
