I noticed at the Republican Convention they had a POW or two who supported McCain. As usual they talked a lot about McCain as a POW 40 years ago as a reason to support him.

Here is POW who knew McCain both before, during and after the POW experience and who does not think being a POW is good experience for being president.

If we're going to blast McCain for making the POW story political, then we shouldn't do the same when it serves our needs.

So, we're not allowed to openly talk about or investigate his POW experience, even though its obvious the Republicans are going to fly that banner for the next 60 days?

McCain has gotten blasted for using his POW experience to dodge real questions concerning his ability or plans as POTUS.

I don't know about you, but every time I've seen a major Democratic figurehead mention John McCain's military service and POW time, it is regarded with the utmost respect.

As well he should...the whole point of that is to make his POW status irrelevant to the campaign and his readiness to be president. But when you use his POW time to attack him, you're doing the same thing as he does, just on the other side of the coin and you'll continue to make his war experience an issue in the campaign. And that's an issue the Dems will lose, IMO.

Let the McCain campaign trip over themselves on this one...they were already doing a fine job of it before, spamming that POW answer every day.

This will get very little play as it shouldn't.

The Democrats don't need to go "revenge for 04" - they can win without it - this election is about hope vs. fear.

the perpetrators of the 04 shame will pass by Johnny and Osama on their way through the gates of hell.

And a "a noun, a verb and 9-11" do not make a presidential campaign.

    I agree...

the whole 9-11, War on Terror, platform is OLD! I just liked how it sounded. It's probably the only line in Rudy's speech I liked.

As someone who lived in NY during his tenure and experienced and lost friends in 9/11, I liked Rudy also. However, this isn't 2004 anymore. Rudy needs to let that go. He could've given a speech about true Reform much like how he did in NY and as Attorney General. Instead, he reminded me of the Rudy that would go on Saturday Night Live wearing a Dress. It's quite sad actually. I've said it before, I would've voted for Bloomberg for President.
