let's just move on. he's not gonna play this year. he probably played his last game as a rocket.

he's thinking about his future and just want to set his knee straight.

It's controversial indeed.

 

3 possibilities:

1. Rockets are incompetent: McGrady legitimately needs surgery. He's always needed it. The team doctors were irresponsible and the Rockets were purposely covering up the seriousness of the problem.

2. McGrady is a lazy prima-donna: Surgery isn't needed. If McGrady had a little more will-power, he could play through it ,and it wouldn't cause any harm. Gradually, over time, it would strengthen. McGrady is invoking microfracture surgery out of frustration or for some other selfish reasons, but it's not needed.

3. Just an unfortunate situation, no one to blame: Surgery has always been one of the options for his knee ... but it's risky, especially for a player like McGrady. The Rockets felt it was in his best interest to just gut it out and it would get better on its own. But the knee hasn't gotten better, and some doctors are now suggesting that it likely won't improve without surgery. There's still reluctance on the team's part to accept the microfracture route, because they know how daunting the recover process will be, but in his frustration McGrady is now seriously considering it.

 

The last game T-mac plays for the Rockets and the rim rejects him. What a legacy. LOL!

#2 is highly unlikely b/c it has not improved. he even said it himself surgery was the LAST option last week. unfortunately, it is now the option.

i'm sure the rockets will force him to go to more doctors and see the overall diagnosis from all the doctors before evaluating what to do next.

but i think from tracy's standpoint, he wants to get his knee fixed and come back better b/c next year is his contract year. again, i don't think his surgery (even if it's microfracture) will be as extensive as amare's or jkidd's. he still wants to play obviously so we'll see.

 

I just can't get over how quickly McGrady has gone from "Surgery is absolutely a last resort. I'm going to get as many opinions as I can to assess the situation and find a way to come back strong" to "Screw it. Season over." I mean, it's not like he was scouring the globe for medical information over the weekend. He was in Vegas. No, this change of heart apparently happened over a 1 or 2 day period.

Whatever. I said earlier today that I wouldn't pay any attention to what McGrady says. And now I'm up at 2 AM trying to make sense of the latest report which comes straight from his mouth. What's wrong with me?

If Tracy is doing this just so his name is cleared in the trading scene, and he changes his mind next week... he can go to hell for all I care.

 

At the end it seems like hes hinting they may be working on something.. am i the only one that thinks that?

Who do you think that unnamed player who we are pursuing could be? It must be someone with a nice contract.

 

I bet Tmac will announce a few days later, that he doesn't need surgery, all he need is a couple weeks of rest. Yes, again. Girls are just that unpredictable.

This is from Feigan so I hope this kills all the "T-Mac wanted surgery so he couldn't get traded." They weren't trading McGrady. Whether it because they couldn't or won't, the whole surgery thing wouldn't matter.
