There were no screaming crowds outside Toyota Center, no sightseeing trips after practice or receptions in the evening to keep the adulation coming into the night. The Rockets went back to work and to normal Monday, jet-lagged no doubt, but with time running out before next week's season opener in Los Angeles. As much as was made about the demands of the China trip, the Rockets did get a couple practices in while they were there. Two practices in nine preseason days are not much, but the Rockets are back now. Yesterday's practice was the first of three before a San Antonio-Dallas back-to-back. After that, it's a day or two to prepare for the Lakers and then they head to Los Angeles. These ordinary, just-another-day days are vitally important, a chance to make up for time lost.
