    In his chat right now:

    Comment From Tim Jackson
Hey Jonathan, last night was definately NOT what most Rockets fans expected! Did MKG going 2nd ruin any chances of us trading into the top 5?
    11:20

    Jonathan Feigen:
Bingo! You absolutely nailed it. They had talks about moves to wo, four, five, six seven, eight and nine – coming closest with Sacramento, Golden State and Toronto. The last hope was that the draft would not go the way Sacramento wanted and the Rockets would have moved there. That hope ended when MKG went to Charlotte.

    Comment From Josh
Did you get a sense of what we were offering to Charlotte and Sacramento and why, exactly, those trades fell through?
    12:07

    Jonathan Feigen:
I mentioned why the Sacramento deal fell through. The guy Sac wanted was going to get to them. The Charlotte deal did not get much traction. I was told over and over that they offered a ton. I asked if that meant Lowry and was told again, they offered a ton. I take that as a yes. They offered picks. I think they probably offered the Kings to poach the roster in other ways, but the talks ended as soon as the Bobcats' pick was announced.

Based on what we heard about MKG's extreme dedication and competitiveness, how in the world was Jordan going to pass on him? Harrison Barnes? Maybe.

Haven't seen much criticism of the pick except from those whose plans it may have altered. Every analyst realistically loves MKG. They know his offensive short-comings and expressed that he would work it out.

I think the surprise was that Charlotte would step away from the "sexy pick" (Robinson). I guess this shows that MJ may be the owner but he's not in charge, its actually Rich Cho (another guy in DM mold of young, genius, and $ball follower).

MKG is basically Davis in SF form. He's extremely raw skill-wise, but he has athleticism, talent, drive and ambition in near limitless quantities. He's gonna be a star based on his hard work and athletic abilities. Not sure why people are questioning this pick I think he's clearly the BPA if you have a timeframe of 2-3 years.

I live in NC and the radio station here was talking about and the dude talking was upset.

"Jordan is running this franchise picking another undersized player with no definite position."

I dont really follow the Bobcats, but the dude was saying we picked and undersized player or whatever that fits our roster with no definite position.

If I was Charlotte I would have gotten that Robinson kid.

Jordan's to in charge anymore. Gilchrist was the second best player in the draft. Rich Cho is doing a good job and worked us and the entire league over this year. This is evident by all trade talks going to hell after he picked gilchrist over Robinson.

Don't get me wrong, I love Thomas Robinson but isn't he kind of considered an undersized PF? But then that is just some guy calling into a local talk radio show and ranting....

MKG seems to be the one player in this draft with the heart and competitive spirit of MJ. He was THE leader of the Kentucky squad according to most of those so-called experts.

Almost none of them are perfect. ADavis is too skinny. DWaiters has a mediocre shot. TRobinson is a tad small. Lillard is not a classic PG. HBarnes has peaked. TRoss was a reach. ADrummond is a Big ?. ARivers is a prima donna... and on and on.

Beal seems like the most perfect player.... on paper.

Nah I feel what you guys were saying, here in NC fans only see what they get, they basically just known NJ owns the team, and are told by mouth he runs the team and get the talent, hell im sure 80 percent of the people in the state know Cho is the GM (He is a Top 5 GM IMO).

Right now here in NC is just football season waiting for Cam to take over. Hopefully I wanna go to there pre-season game to see my Texans.

Feigen seems pretty convinced that A) the Rockets WILL pursue Hibbert and WILL fail and B) the Rockets will continue pushing hard for Dwight until he is traded.

As a North Carolinian and big Bobcat fan, I am not sure I buy what you are selling. There is a very large contingency of Bobcats fans (and now soon-to-be Bobcat fans) that are as excited about Kidd-Gilchrist as they were about Newton. This generic "MJ is the problem" is also a bit overplayed and seemingly far from accurate. Rich Cho is here (in CLT) because of Michael Jordan, not in spite of him.

As for random people that call up to an AM radio to rant, I'd give them as much credence as an unknown poster on the web - do your own research and you might find that the Kidd-Gilchrist pick is widely regarded as positive. The only folks that seem overly upset with it thought that somehow the Bobcats should have dealt picks and gotten someone they obviously wanted less than whom they picked.
