I still recall Hill playing pretty good defense on D. Howard in the pre-season. He does have good lateral movement.

I'm thinking Jeffries should get more time in Hayes's place.

We need that expiring contract SHOWCASED :)

Jeffries would make a lot of sense over Patterson if the focus is to win games now and not develop for later.

Yeah, I'm thinking Jeffries over Patterson as well. The upcoming schedule is no joke. Adelman's going to go with a "win-now" lineup.

I think Morey needs to be on the phone with Cleveland and Portland ASAP and ask about Varajao or Camby.

Funny how JJ's name didn't pop up in any of the interviews/conversations, but he may well play. At least he should be in uniform.

Who were the 3 in suits, then?

Didn't Patterson get some run in the Clippers game before Jeffries?

For Pat's sake, I hope he gets more burn than Jeffries, that would be a good sign.

It was the Clippers, and Del Negro wasn't playing his main guys during that stretch. I don't think Adelman would use Patterson ahead of Jeffries against quality team/players. If he does, then that's a sign that Patterson has really shown him a lot in practice and has earned the coach's trust.

I forgot about Andy, I would be surprised if Morey isn't trying to pry him away from the Cavs. I like it.

So good news for us Bargnani is not with the team for tonight and KG is out for 2 weeks so we won't have to be worried about him.

i'm not talking about hill. i'm talking about the player that has a similar raw defensive skill set - accompanied by more offensive potential.

I do want to see more JHill, PP and Twill but I wouldn't mind JJ getting some playing time. He is one of the better defensive players on the team and with his size and versatility, could provide a different dimension to the team.

JJ is probably the much better win now choice.

That being said, I don't think you have to showcase him at all, teams around the league know what he can and can't do.

I would like to see PPat get in there, and see what his ahtleticism can bring....

It will be interesting to see which direction RA goes.....if he goes JJ, it would seem he is in win now mode...if he goes PP, than maybe it is in sort of a quasi win and develop mode.

I 100% agree with you i dont understand why he has not been utilized this season. I mean he dont need massive minutes but he is a tremendous situational player to get they two or three stops when we really need them or just his size covering inbound pass at end of game situations.

The roster is just too deep, we have 12 or more NBA ready rotational players on the team.

And you can't play them all.

If it's black and white like that, then JJ will see extended minutes. All i've heard from Morey is that they are trying to make the playoffs and thus JJ makes sense.

All that said, Morey mentioned PP and JHill after Chuck got hurt so maybe they feel these guys are ready to take up the slack. Agree, it will be VERY interesting to see what RA does.

durvasa, you do realize that Patterson has been in uniform--and Jeffries has been "inactive"--for the past several games, right? If Adelman wasn't confident enough to play Patterson over Jeffries, even if only in an emergency, then he would have made Jeffries active and had Patterson watching in a nice blazer.
