We know your're not a hill fan,but patterson wants no part of finishing in the 4th. He doesnt have it in him at all. He's a backseat kind of player.
More minutes for Hill, and perhaps some for Patterson too. Miller will spend more time on the floor, despite his inability to defend around the basket.
Cousins and John Wall coming to Kentucky and Patterson accepting his third option role. Try to top that logic!
There is no way you Actually know how Patterson will grow as a pro. Just because he did what was right for the team at Kentucky with the incoming freshman, means nothing on the NBA level other than, he's probably going to be a TEAM guy.
I'm just saying that he doesn't have the mythic defensive powers that others attribute to him. If he was 6'8, 6'9 he might be the player that people think he is. But at 6'5, 6'6, he's just a tweener who's better-than-average at the defensive end and less-than-average at the offensive end. The Rockets' biggest problems are that they cannot block shots or rebound in traffic, and those problems start with Chuck Hayes. Yeah, I get that it's hard to drive around him or back him down, but he's not a game changer on defense. There's no reason he should be taking minutes away from lottery picks like Hill and Patterson.
If it is estimated that Chuck will be out 2-4 weeks, I predict that he will be back Jan 10, against Boston. Wait and see.
There is a reason you named yourself furious jam. It's because you only understand the dunking and blocking shots part of the game. If you understood basketball better you would understand why chuck is a game changer. 1v1 Defense in the post is the hardest defense to play in the game of basketball. low post defense isn't about swatting a ball 10 rows into the stands, it's about footwork and positioning. To the casual fan this isn't exciting at all, and as a result most of our post players have poor fundamentals, and couldn't guard a paper bag in the post. Ever wonder why there are few, if any, dominant post-up players left in the game? Because they don't teach the fundamentals anymore. They learn blocking shots and dunking. That being said, 95% of teams start the game in the post. If your low-post option can't score, no matter who it may be, your in trouble. The whole teams rhythm is thrown off. that's why chuck Hayes is still starting.
In 10 days for a moderate to severe sprain? No way. It's going to take that long just to get the swelling down. 2-4 week link: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AgPlKeWoPiaHLNPMZRtJrk28vLYF?slug=ap-rockets-hayes
T-Mac accepted the role as 4th/5th option on the Raptors for a couple of seasons seasons letting Kevin Willis, Doug Christie, Vince Carter, and Dee Brown take all the shots. It didn't stop him from turning into a ballhog, a few years later.
What is it with the Rockets and sprained ankles? It seems guys used to get a sprain and miss a game or two but now they get a sprain and they're out a whole freaking month. What in the hell?
