Right now it seems like we have a problem that only getting a high draft pick can fix.

Getting iggy would make use better but it still does not fix our problems at the point guard and Center spot.

Right now no one is giving draft picks away we are going to have to commit to developing our young players and sucking. There are not any trades available that will take us to the championship level we want to be at.

As much as we crap on the knicks they are a point guard away from being respectable. If Deron Williams leaves Utah to go the knicks watch out!

After getting Iggy, getting Hinrich would solve the problems at PG IMO....
unlike Brooks (only good on O, but without court vision) or Lowry (good on D but can't shoot)....

Why Hinrich? because he's the most underrated right now (specially after being behind Rose in chicago and because of his salary), Wizards are betting on John Wall and making him play SG, so Hinrich is the most likely to be gotten with assets....

Getting another 2-way PG of similar caliber would be more difficult, regarding the difficulty of getting the trades done, IMO.

Hinrich is a very skilled, highly intelligent baller, plays great D, and he can shoot it from distance.

Another possibility is Devin Harris. He plays great D and gets to the FT line with great frequency.

Kirk could fill a area of need on this team but what do we do with Brooks? You cant have Hinrch, Lowry and Brooks and Smith all on the same team.

The wizards only have 58 mil in salary this year. Even less next year and that's with Gilberts Monster Contract (in 2013 he will make over 22 mil ouch)

The Point im trying to make here is the wizards don't need Brooks. And they don't need cap relief. The only bad salary they have is one no one in there right mind would touch. At least not till the final year of his deal.

Even if we some some how make all those deals we still are a 40 win team and not making the playoffs.

All of these are band aids and don't make the team that much better, we have to make a decision on Yao first...then we have a direction.

Right now they are spinning in circles.....until Yao's contract is up.

Hinrich- just say no. if he was black, no one would bring him up.
    Devin Harris- Yes!

    Agreed.

At some point our franchise has to move on. It sucks because I love Yao, but it seems as though his days helping the Rockets are pretty much over. I like some of the young talent on this team and we have some sort of foundation, however we really need those players that are going to make a difference in our team. Is time to stop beating around the bush and try to get a high draft pick since it doesn't seem we are going to be able to trade for a superstar.

If only one good thing happens this season, let it be some type of closure on the Yao era.

Agreed, my biggest fear is that Les ties him up to another long term deal and the truth is revealed that they are not really about winning but about making $$$...

I've always liked Hinrich, but the notion that he'd fix our issues at PG is a step past optimistic.

Morey made a mistake matching Lowry. Brooks is not going to become a well-rounded PG.

    Our SF rotation is weak.

Our frontcourt, barring Scola (and possibly Hill) is unreliable and held together by floss.

We needed to flip all of these assets for a franchise guy, but now I'm starting to think the best we might get is TEs and mediocre draft picks.

Agreed, but he would be an upgrade.

Agreed, he should have signed him to a cheaper extension before last season, when he held the advantage.

Disagree, he has been getting better every year, no reason that he can't be a championship PG, just like Morey said.

This flips around if Chase gets his act together.....it at least becomes decent.

    Sadly true.

The odds against that are staggering, we need a real plan where we control the plan, not one that is predicated on others screwing up and us taking advantage.

Don't you worry, we will be tying 9-10 million into AB, with a PG being paid 6million, which will offset Yao's salary.

You guys make it seem like, getting Rid of Yao's contract is going to be a big difference maker. That money will just be poorly spent.

With Tmac 23 million, we got a bunch of 1 way players.......

Our problems are way deeper than 17 million contract.

    Hmmmmm..........

my biggest fear is that Morey and Les cut Yao loose and he goes to New York or God forbid, Miami and winds up with 10 rings.

Iggy and Heinrich, or however his name is spelled, would make this team much better. Package Brooks or Lowry on a trade for Heinrich and package the other in a trade for Iggy. Rockets are currently deep enough for this. I believe that's the case anyway... Flush out the Roster and give JT and PatPat a chance to develop and shine.

I'm going to the game Monday night. I hope they don't lose.

Nothing will make this team better unless they

    a) play over their heads again

    and/or

    b) get some interior defense.

We can improve b) in my opinion by for example playing Jordan Hill. But I guess it is up to coach Adelman.
