Damn it! Shipping Mike Harris out was bad bad bad bad bad Karma. Guy comes in, works hard, plays smart, does everything asked of him and gets cut for money reasons. That sends a message to the rest of the team about the front office's priorities. What goes through your mind if you were a Rockets player and you see that Mike Harris gets cut and Jackie Buttler's fat ass gets to hang around?
I'm sorry we lost Harris too, but put it in perspective. Whether it's Harris or Butler or Snyder or Novak, we're talking about a 12th man in a 9 or 10 player rotation or a permanent seat on the IR. I find it hard to get real worked up over who gets spot minutes to finish out blowouts.
I was about to say how does Walker coming to Minnesota hurt us on the basketball court when we play them. Blount and davis used to kill us but as far as I'm concerned Antoine Walker is a 6'8 Jackie Butler. But then I saw what was really being talked about and now we are on the same page.
They are not repeating... Manu lost his mind with anger after the Scola trade: He now hates Popovich for his lies:
miami wouldn't have given up any picks from any rounds for kirk snyder. i'd say rockets would've been happy for the salary dump alone.
scola and Hayes have both been troubled by fouls and turnovers. I reckon Harris would've played. It would've been like how Seattle a couple years ago used three PF's as they were foul prone.
I would think "we need more centers than perimeter oriented tweener types". in other news, please stop posting, you're killing my brain cells. there really should be a cap on how many r****ded threads you can start in 1 day.
We should move Butler, Snyder, Sura, Lucas, and/or Reed/Novak for Antoine Walker. Sit him at the end of the bench. It's a salary dump for both teams. And it frees up our roster to bring Harris!!!! Next year Walker's contract is a nice expiring deal. If we can't do anything else, we should try to do this deal.
Crap. I'd rather have Harris than Snyder, Novak, Reed, Butler, or Landry. Brooks is my friend on Facebook, so I heart Brooks. Plus, he's on his way up. He and Harris... Man. That could've been like a Franchise and Cat duo again.
I had a thread going on a Snyder/Reed/Novak for D. Cook/Doleac/pick trade... Sometimes it's easier to see things from down-unda...
I think I'm the only one here who would've loved to have A-Walker. He's a guy that can manufacture points by himself and get teammates involved. He can shoot(though shot selection is horrid), an excellent passer(would be perfect in this system), terrific court vision, can handle, great cutter, and can rebound. The guy is a SF in a PF body. A stark contrast to our PF in a SF body(Hayes) I don't fault him for firing 3's, but his shot selection needs a total makeover.
For Harris to make the team, Rockets have to have only 14 guranteed contract. Remember how we got Scola? Right, because Spurs wanted to save some dollars. Saying had we dealt Kirk we would have been able to keep Harris is Fantasy NBA.
Walker does bring a skillset the Rockets are only hoping that Novak that can deliver. Though if one the goals of these trades is to get under luxury tax then Rafer must be included in this deal. Rafer+Reed+Butler+Snyder for Walker + Edwards/Richard (both non-guaranteed) James Francis Lucas Brooks TMac Bonzi Head Battier Walker Novak Scola Hayes Landry Yao Deke
