How would people feel about a trade using Yao's and Bud for Lewis and McGee. Gives us a decent Defensive center and I think Lewis would be an upgrade at SF. I think we could be a legit team in the west. Maybe put TWill at point in the future and we've gone from the shortest team to one of the tallest. Lewis might have the worse contract in the NBA but I'm not sure what better options are available and Washington probably wouldn't mind shedding those contracts to rebuild.
Goes here: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=190437 Also, no. Never. Lewis is literally the worst contract in the NBA.
I've always thought Lewis was the worst contract but I think it's what we could take to get a center we need and we have the right assets to take both contracts. Lewis would probably play well in our system and causes match up problems at his position.
NO WAY dude! Rashard Lewis is the 2nd highest paid player in the NBA this year, and will be for the next couple of years. Take a look at this list and see who gets paid LESS than him, but produce much MORE HoopsHypeTop Salaries
For some reason, I don't care about contracts, just production, this trade would make us a lot better, but Washington would never do it, and it is in the wrong thread. DD
From what I've seen he could he's mobile takes 3s a poor mans/ overpriced Durant ha. It's the combination of him and McGee that I think is what helps our team though. I said from the beginning I think he's wayyyyy overpaid
Thanks for understanding what I was saying. If you look past the contract this would help our team alot. And I'm pretty sure Washington would want to clear space add young talent to build around Wall. And sorry about the wrong post I'm still new trying to figure this out.
Sounds like a move that gets the team marginally better, but handicaps us for years to come without really taking us any closer to seriously contending for a championship.
Maybe, sometimes changing a team a little bit can have a major impact.....and lord knows McGhee anchoring the middle of our defense would be a MAJOR impact. DD
You have to care about contracts especially right now with the new CBA coming. Les isn't going to be willing to pay millions upon millions in tax like Mark Cuban does, and the key to building a good team is getting production dollars that makes them worth their contract. Most teams have ability to 2 max players and a bunch of fillers, what makes them great is making sure those 2 max players are worthy of it, Rashard Lewis being 1 of your max players for many more years, really hinders your team long term. Lets just say there is a reason the Magic were willing to take the headache that is Garenas to get rid of Shard's nasty contract.
Unless they're offering John Wall (never going to happen), you absolutely have to veto any trade involving Rashard Lewis. His soft, underachieving mentality and status as a 2nd-3rd banana will do nothing for this team. And that's placing aside the sheer facts that: 1) We don't really even need him and 2) His contract is perhaps the worst in the league.
It's been discussed recently and Lewis is a bad bad contract....it's just Mcgee, not enough to take on such an overpaid player like Lewis.
Remember when everyday someone would post we should have drafted Lewis? I guess we don't want him anymore.
