Seeing Richard Pryor's standup's for the first time got me thinking, what are your top 3 favorite standups?

Richard Pryor - Live in Concert
    Chris Rock - Never Scared
    Eddie Murphy - Raw

Pryor "Live in Concert" is the #1 standup act ever caught on film IMHO. If you've never seen it, stop what you are doing right now and go buy it or rent it. You will not be disappointed. I never laughed so hard in my life.

George Carlin is a very close 2nd.

    Stephen Wright
    Lewis Black
    Amazing Jonathan
    Lenny Bruce
    Woody Allen
    Bill Hicks
    Sinbad
    Robin Williams

Agreed. The bit about the black hostages brings a chuckle to my face every time I think about it.

George Carlin is the best standup comic ever.

We had this discussion back when Comedy Central released their list of the 100 Great Standup Comedians, and Carlin was ranked second to Pryor.

For those of you who like Chris Rock, he has said publicly that he was heavily influenced by Carlin.

It seems like a lot of you are limiting yourself to black comedians.

Branch out. You'll be happy you saw Carlin.
