The X-Files are coming to TNT beginning 10/01/02. Time to catch-up on the early shows that I missed/can't remember! It still hasn't really hit me yet that Mulder & Scully won't be back ever again(unless on the big screen)! FOX, you suck! But I digress, I think my most favoritest episode is the one where Mulder & Scully happen upon an inbreeding, mutilated, Pennsylvania family living happily in the Pennsylvania countryside. Yuuuuuck! Can't remember the name of the actual episode, but it's one that you won't forget when you see it! I still get chills up my spine just remember that one... *aaaarghhh* So which episode(s) was your favorite?
I finally caught a rerun of it and it was pretty sick. They edited that episode a lot and I wondered what was in the original run... My favorite were the two episodes where they had that kidney eater Tombs. That guy who could stretch his body and hibernate off of bile...
Favorite Episode: JOSE CHUNG'S FROM OUTER SPACE It was a season 3 Episode, where Mulder and Scully come to a small town and question the locals about an alien abduction and they wind up hearing all theses crazy, differing stories of what happened, which are shown in flashbacks. This episode is like a maze! Very David Lynch-esque. It's the one where someone gets abducted, and when he's on the alien ship he sees an alien with his head between his legs repeatedly saying in plain english"this isn't happening...this isn't happening." From so many to choose from, I think that's the one that sticks out.
Jose Chung's was great. That inbreeding episode is called "Home" -- I did not love that one. The worst one is called "The Field Where I died" -- I have tried to watch it like three times and can never get to the first commercial. The travelling circus one is good, but my favorite is probably Small Potatoes, when some dude impersonates Mulder and starts hitting on Scully (and she goes for it). The series jumped the shark at the movie. CBFC
That's right! Thanks. It was a pretty screwy episode. It was just so macabre, it was great, yucky, nasty stuff.....
Definitely. Some other favorites of mine: Home Clyde Brockman's Final Repose DPO and the one with the genie (can't recall the title)
They were my favorite also. The first two seasons were really good, I didn't miss one episode. Which episode was it, I think the second to last season, where the creature/man would eat people with illnesses and then recreate them without any illness. I think the creature saved the life of Agent Doggit by doing this.
Three spring to mind: 1. The episode where Mulder (or was it Scully? I don't remember) gets enveloped by a giant fungus at the beginning and goes into a weird dreamlike state under the ground. The whole story of the episode is actually a dream induced by the fungus creature, but we don't find out until the end when Mulder wakes up and pulls himself (and Scully) out of the ground. Anyone remember this? 2. Mulder moves into a 'perfect' suburban town with very strict neighbourhood rules. He gets in trouble with the neighbours for setting up a basketball hoop, not replacing a burnt-out lightbulb, etc.. Meanwhile, a strange creature appears during the night which gobbles up people who break the town rules. The creature turns out to be a spirit the townspeople summoned to keep their town clean. 3. Mulder gets caught in a time loop which involves a bank robbery. Whatever he does causes him to get killed and keep repeating the loop. Eventually, he is able to figure out what is going on and breaks free from the time loop.
Oh, and without spoiling things, was the X-Files finale episode any good? I have it on tape but have never gotten around to watching it. Well, actually, I watched the first 20 minutes (Mulder throws the big dude off the rail, he gets electrocuted, Mulder gets put in military prison, Doggit and Scully do a lot of dull talking) but was bored to tears. Does it get any better, or is the slow-paced boredom of the first 20 minutes indicative of the entire episode?
