I imagine there are a lot of people out there who don't eat vegetables much, but I love fresh veggies and eat tons of them a day without dip or anything. I eat a wide variety, but my favorite is Jicama. It tastes kind of sweet and supposedly comes from Mexico.
As a vegetarian, all i eat are vegetables everyday! I don't have a favorite, but I always eat a homemade veggie hoagie everday for dinner, with onions, green peppers, tomatos, lettuce, pickles... I love veggies!
Does fried Okra count? Honestly, I cant stand most vegetables. They taste like **** to me. Corn is okay, but is it REALLY a vegetable...its not one of the green ones anyways. And I know tomatoes are considered a fruit, but they suck too. Potatoes are ok, but again, are those really even vegetables? If I go to subway I'll get a sub with meat a tiny bit of lettuce and ONE tomato on it...
Fresh home-grown juicy tomatos. Mmmmmm.... Yes, purists will quibble and point out that technically it is a fruit. But in this country we treat it as a vegetable, dammit! Therefore tomato is my favorite vegetable.
Lol, if the country jumped off of a bridge, would you do the same? The tomato is a berry, man. Don't believe the biased liberal media that tells you otherwise. I, personally, like the dark green stuff: kale, spinach, collards, turnip greens, snow pea leaves, sea weed, etc. dragp, I hope you eat better vegetables than those listed on a daily basis - all of those are empty or minimal in nutritional value.
Yeah, no doubt. I remember in my younger days when my mother would snap at me whenever I clean out every portion of my plate (meat, fruit, etc.) and leave the veggies mostly untouched: "EAT YOUR VEGETABLES, BOY!!! They're good for you." And I think to myself as I reluctantly eat them: yeah yeah I know, but they don't taste good.... Anyway, now that I'm grown, I've taken more of a liking to some veggies and thus eat them more often. My favorites are corn (either sweet kernel corn or cream corn, NOT corn on the cob), carrots (sweet only), mashed potatoes with brown or cream gravy, spinach and green beans. Still can't stand fried okra or beets, though.
Technically, I believe a vegetable is any edible part of a plant. Therefore, all fruits are by definition a vegetable. So technically, the purists can go suck a lemon, another vegetable.
mmmmmm....veggies baby spinach, zuchinni, squash, chaote, okra, mushrooms (veggie or fungus?), artichoke, all kinds of peppers
Peas, okra, broccoli, tomatoes, spinach, zuchinni, squash, corn, cucumber (and pickles)... The sad part is that I don't eat enough veggies. I love them though. Especially my grandmother's home grown!
You know, it said favorite vegetable. It never said you had to eat the vegetable. Maybe these threads should be more specific.
