Who's your favorite stand up comedian?

I am trying to think of comedians right now. I am trying to get some cds for the road.

    Got Richard Pryor today.

I prefer comics with some element of intellect. Jimmy Pardo is great.

Agreed here. Hicks was so funny the night I saw him at the Laff Stop that my stomach ached for five days afterwards.

    Will Durst
    Brian Regan
    Louis Black
    George Carlin

BTW, if you are in Houston, I could let you borrow the Hicks CDs I have. Funniest man ever for my money.

    BILL HICKS!!!

the late, great native houstonian. he was as much a social commentator as a comedian/satirist. i agree 100% w/ everything that man said. i have gushing man-love for him and all of his work. david cross is funny, but i hope he is sending royalty checks to the hicks family, as most of his act is an updated rehash of what bill was talking about 15-10 years ago.

after hicks, i would say eddie murphy, chris rock, redd foxx, george carlin, david cross

america could really use bill hicks right now!
