I guess I'd start with Nick Lowe, go down a spot and give a nod to Jesus, and go from there ...

*******. How did I forget Elvis Costello and Tom Waits. Not to mention Stevie Wonder.

And, by the way, Elvis Presley rules. If you don't know that I can't help you.

This was a lot tougher than the bands as the solo artists that I have are pretty varied.

    1 - Aphex Twin
    2 - Bob Dylan
    3 - Beck
    4 - Peter Gabriel
    5 - Nick Drake

Honorable Mentions - Dave Matthews Band (since I didn't have them in the other thread), Jimi Hendrix Experience (same thing as DMB), Fiona Apple, Bjork, Sheryl Crow, Jeff Buckley, Kate Bush, Dido, Fatboy Slim, Moby, Mike Oldfield, Vangelis, Elvis Costello, Elvis Presley, Liz Phair (first 3 albums only), Beth Orton, Pig (Raymond Watts), Sarah McLachlan, and Jack Johnson.

And if we include jazz artists, John Coltrane is automatically in the top 5 with Miles Davis and Horace Silver in the honorable mentions categories.
