Even though I'm in the middle of my Olajuwon spazz, I was wondering what you consider to be the best Olajuwon memory...

My favorite memory of Olajuwon is when he totally destroyed The Admiral after his so-called MVP year... It was the first time I saw Olajuwon looking for blood... He was obviously trying to show David that Olajuwon was still better despite the MVP season...

    Top five favorite Olajuwon moments

    5. That crossover then spin move and dunk on Ewing in the Finals

    4. Swatting KJ from behind as he was trying to dunk (then seeing him fall right on his ass)

    3. That series of about four or five fakes against the Little Mermaid in the conference finals, made him look silly

    2. Turning the ball over then running back down court to block Strickland on his way to an easy layup

    1. Him just sitting down after winning the title in 94 watching all the goings on with this blank look on his face.

Getting his autograph at the airport when nobody was around ( pretty late - I worked there at the time.) in 1993 and standing in front of him thinking: "Yea, I can take you to the rim", since he seemed shorter than I imagined [IMG] - hope personal experiences count.

One of my favorite Olajuwon moments was when he pimp slapped Billy Paultz in the playoffs against the Jazz,I think in 1985.

My favorite Olajuwon career memory is his quote "we must fockass" translated "we must focus" but with his accent it sounded like "fockass"

I'm with you on this one, Prempeh. I have never seen one man so thoroughly embarassed on one move. Ewing barely even moved before Olajuwon spun around him like he was a statue.

Ewing is still looking for his jock to this day.

That to me always personified what Olajuwon was about. He was a huge 6'11' center who could move like a guard when he wanted.

    (Notice the word could above)
    Utterly amazing.

Anyone out there have a copy of the Rockets' rap video? Did they ever actually release it on vinyl? Too bad the NBA wasn't the marketing machine it is now, and they didn't press a commemorative VHS, preserving that "gem."

For those of you too young to remember, back in '86, in imitation of the Bears' "Superbowl Shuffle," the Rockets did a rap and accompanying video.

Poor Dream had to try, but his accent when rapping is worse than when he's speaking, and it ended up coming out sounding more like Tarzan: "Me Akeem, pass, dunk. Like rap"

Incidentally, Dream beat Shaq in the '95 finals, but he *didn't* school him. D. Robinson on the other hand...

Along those lines, my favorite memory will always be Dream's three-pointer to complete the sweep of the '95 finals...

I would have to say Game 1 on the 1995 NBA finals when Drexler went up for a layup in the last seconds of the OT, missed, and out of nowhere (it seemed), good ol' dependable dream was there to tip it in for the win.

The spin move on heavy-footed Ewing in the 1994 finals, the 3 pointer at the end of game 4 of the '95 finals, putting on a clinic for David Robinson in the '95 western finals, his comeback after the eye injury in 1991, punching Michael Cage back in '87 or so, the blocks on punk-whiners KJ & Strickland, the tip-in in game 1 of the '95 finals, getting ejected in the Lakers game of the '86 western finals and the team still winning, swatting Dr. J's layup in '86 or so, and the look on his face as time ran out in game 7 of the '94 finals. Love ya, Dream!

I gotta go with UT Baller on this one. Dream made Robinson look like an idiot in front of his own crowd. I may be wrong, but I think Dream held Robinson to 9 points in one game during that series. The same Robinson who scored 71 in a farce against the Clips at the end of the season the year before. Dis.

Anyone remember the Olajuwon commercial for Appletree's (grocery store that went out of business)?

All I can remember is him sitting in bed eating fruit and cutting a steak, and the camera then pan's out to show his big feet sticking out from under the covers.
