I really like Arrested Development on Fox. This show is like nothing else. The humor is something you will see nowhere else. Ron Howard is the director. It is really nice to see Jason Bateman on prime-time television again. By the way, does he ever age? He looks just as young as he did when he starred on Hogan's Family. I also like Las Vegas on NBC. I had my doubts, but this show is really catchy. It looks like it costed quite a bit to produce so I am sure they have a lot invested in it. James Caan is one of my favorite actors and his role as the surveillance head honcho fits him well. Vanessa Marcil, Molly Sims, and Nikki Cox aren't too bad on the eyes either. Don't laugh but I also like One Tree Hill on the WB. This show is a little like Dawson's Creek. The premise of the show is high-school basketball so you can at least give it a chance. Oh, don't let me forget, the high-school girls in this show are hotties. Fox has a jackpot in The O.C.. I can honestly say that this is an addicting show. I am just afraid that the producers of the show are going to run out of ideas on where to take the storyline. It has been great so far and it seems like the surprises never stop. Another show I like is The Handler on CBS. Joe Pantaliano of Sopranos fame heads up an elite division of undercover FBI agents and brings down bad guys. Each show sorta merges into the next but it's not really as obvious as you would think. I had Pantaliano's character in the Sopranos but he plays a more likeable guy in this show. There are a couple of hotties too. What are your favorites?
It's gotta be the "poor man's 90210, " The O.C., home of the most predictable story plots and bad acting on television today. Guess that's why I'm oh-so addicted to it... Please don't confuse the O.C. with the O.G. (the "Olive Garden").
I like Tru Calling. It has an annoying feature where they feel the need to recap the whole show at the halfway point, and anytime something happens that ties into what happened earlier in the show they feel the need for a flashback, but all that pales in comparison to the goodness that is Dushku. Hopefully they will cancel it though so that Eliza can do a Faith spinoff of Buffy.
Arrested Development. Ron Howard doesn't direct it though, he's the producer and the narrator. It's such a damn good show that you know the average viewer of Fox probably isn't watching it and demanding another "When Animals Attack," or "World's Greatest Police Chases," or a stupid reality show. This means the show may not last long
I was going to say that one and I also like "Married to the Kellys" with Brekin Meyer, not to bad of a show.
If Fox does actually drop Arrested Development from their lineup, then I am sure another network will pick it up. Fox did pick up the rest of the first season, so maybe it will last. Fox dropped Grounded for Life last year and it was picked up by the WB. Hilarious show.
Arrested Development is BY FAR the best new comedy on television (of course, that could also be because the others have been TERRIBLE... but, I like the show nonetheless). Its got an awesome feel to the show... almost seinfeld like... where they act out outrageously funny scenes in a calm and composed manner. Ron Howard is the narrorator... a suspicion I had that was only confirmed by the previous posters in this thread. Of course, the show I hope you all get a chance to see sometime is Curb Your Enthusiasm. One show and you'll be hooked... guranteed. Season premier is in January.
http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69249 I'm all about the History Channel, Seinfeld re-runs, and SNL re-runs. Oh, and Viva La Bam...
Arrested Development and The O.C. Hands down. Good news for Arrested Development fans. FOX has picked up the rest of the season. Both shows are greatness!
I haven't seen any new shows but HBO's Carnivale. I like it, but the season finale was sort of disappointing. I'm kind of anxious for the new Mob drama premeiring tonight, "Line of Fire"
I love OC. OC Rocks. I feel like a giddy teenage 13 year old girl when I watch that show. Eliza Dushku is hot. She was fantastic in Bring it On. Holy Mary is on Al-Jazeera TV
Arrested Development. At first it was weird to see since it wasn't filmed in the same generic fashion. But it's actually really funny and different. Maybe it'll go over some people's heads since it is so unfamiliar and not dumbed down. I don't remember a laugh track or any of that crap. I never realized how cut and dry most TV shows are filmed. It just becomes normal, but it's sort of shocking when you notice something different.
Las Vegas is cool. There are really good parts with some cheese thrown in. OC is pretty good but my wife likes it more than I do. I like the women in it. Thats about it. I am looking forward to ABC's Line of Fire with David Paymer which is surprising since I think everything on ABC sucks except of course NYPD Blue.
