I'm a big MTV freak...and music videos are just so darn cool. But I don't really have a single fav one...here's some.

    Beastie Boys - Sabotage (AWESOME!!)
Ice Cube - It Was A Good Day
Dr. Dre & Snoop - Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang
a-ha - Take On Me (love the animation stuff)
Blind Melon - No Rain (2 words: bee girl)
Don Henley - The Boys of Summer (trivia: won first ever MTV vid of the year)
Janet Jackson - If (Possibly the finest representation of a female ever caught on tape.)
Jay-Z - Girls, Girls, Girls (nice transitions, characters, and all that good stuff)
    Massive Attack - Teardrop (amazing)
U2 - Where The Streets... (like the whole Beatles angle)
Smashing Pumpkins - 1979 (the cool gas-station store scene)
    Weezer - Buddy Holly (obvious)

And don't ask: Madonna - True Blue
    Just be quiet.

    whats a music video?

mtv doesn f**king play them unless your a crack fiend and you stay up till 4am to watch them.

i wish mtv was mtv2 and mtv2 was mtv. but im no longer a teeny bopper so i guess my opinion doesnt matter. (echo echo echo echo........)

the whole nirvana unplugged. that should count as a music video. thats my favorite i guess. i like chop suey as a more recent choice...

i like that old sinead oconner video.... nothing compares to you... thats my guilty pleasure pick...sorry if i spelled her name wrong.

i prefer just turning on radiohead and watching the cartoon network on mute when im *****d. that .....is my ultimate fav music video. everyone should try that before they die.

    :(

There was one video that came out around '93 that had a bunch of car-robot-type people with human heads... I have no idea what song it was but it was cool and laid back.

And almost forgot Human Nature by Madonna... What a great time to go through puberty. ;)

Haven't had cable since I was a kid, which was when MTV started up and also when I hit puberty, so my favorites are old and horny ones:

    She's Tight by Cheap Trick
    Crimson and Clover, Joan Jett

Both featured awesome, sexy mouth closeups.

I also enjoyed Mexican Radio and Whip It. And I don't so much remember the actual video, but She's A Beauty by The Tubes was pretty big for me.

First video I ever saw, which was within a week of the MTV launch, was Heart's City's Burning.

All time favorite music video though is the Ken Russell movie of The Who's Tommy.

Good call on your choices, Batman!

Off the top of my head, I would say these:

"Der Kommissar" (English version) - After the Fire
"Der Kommissar" (original version) - Falco (got love seeing Falco "running in the streets" away from the people chasing him)
"Stay the Night" - Chicago (simply because Barbi Benton is so damn hot in that video)
"Safety Dance" - Men Without Hats
"When I Think of You" - Janet Jackson
    "99 Luftballoons" - Nena
    "Don't Dream It's Over" - Crowded House
"Total Eclipse of the Heart" - Bonnie Tyler (although somewhat weird)
    "Perfect Kiss" - New Order
"Love Will Tear Us Apart" - Joy Division

I know there are more, but this is all I can think of right now. If it wasn't obvious, I grew up when MTV was really only about showing music videos and none of this other stuff they show now like "The Real World" and "Road Rules" (which is like the old Real World?? WTF is up with that??). Those were the days. :(
