Berman, hands down, is the best television broadcaster locally. Wragge is second, IMO.

If you were going to count radio, I would go:

    Berman
    Palillo
    Lord
    Dalati
    Wragge
    Allen

    No contest, Mark Berman

thank you for not putting Matt Sampsel on the list. Does the use of the word "Tator" in place of homerun annoy anyone else?

My favorites are Bob Allen, Mark Berman, and Charlie Pallilo.

My least favorites are Giff Nielson, Kenny Hand, and John Granato.

Berman. He's the best sports journalist in Houston, hands down.

    Berman

    Dalati
Granato (If he is the one on the morning show, on 610. He is also the one who did The Astros post game show on ch.51, right?)
    Wragge
    Allen

There are only two that I really don't like. Giff Nielson when he starts talking about his old Olier days and Charlie Pallilo. I use to like him a lot but then I started noticing how he overly enunciates every other word. It just started driving me nuts. I do think he is good at what he does though.

    Berman.

No one else is really close, except perhaps Tim Melton. The other stations just throw the sports section in at the end of the newscast like an afterthought. They even put a commercial break in the middle of it.

I like Pallilo. I also like Lance and John in the morning but not because they're great sportscasters. They're just funny. They talk about pointspreads and football too much. They never talk about the Rockets!

I like Tim Melton. Bob Allen sounds too serious sometimes..I don't watch FOX too much so I can't comment on Berman.

As for Wragge, I still don't see how Channel 2 let Craig Roberts go. Wragge just doesn't seem fit to be a sportscaster to me, imo.

Craig Roberts... Period. End of Story.

The fact that 2 cut him, and no other network picked him up still boggles the mind.

    Bob Allen

He might not be the first to break news, but the guy can certainly delliver it.

I must have been in Austin when Roberts was let go. Anyone feel like sharing the inside scoop per his release?
