I remember watching all of the holiday specials when I was younger -- but it's been years since I've seen them. A friend of mine has 2 little girls and he was talking about some of the shows and it made me want to see them again.

    My favorites:

    Rudolph
    The Little Drummer Boy
    Nester the Long Eared Donkey

My daughter is totally into Charlie Brown this year (5 yo). Every single night it gets played several times via the DVR.

My personal favorite (I know it's not a special per se) is A Christmas Story. Hands down the most annoying, but most approriate and funny Christmas show ever. I'll see it about two and a half times when TBS (or TNT) airs it's 24 hour marathon.

    woot shooting your eye out!!!1!

charlie brown. short enough to not get boring, but packed with enough sentimentality to cheer you up, fill you with holiday spirit, and make you remember what christmas is all about.

i also think charlie brown's other holiday specials are pretty solid. we miss you charles schultz!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas. That show always cracks me up. Too bad they don't play it as much as they used to.

I haven't seen it in years, but "Emmet Otter's Jug-band Christmas" is my favorite.

I believe there was a "Star Wars Christmas Special" shortly after the movie came out. And I still have a copy of the "Christmas In The Stars: The Star Wars Christmas Album", which features the immortal classic "R2-D2, We Wish You A Merry Christmas"...sung by John Bongiovi (later known as Jon Bon Jovi)!

I voted Rudolph...I love that show...I found all the pieces at ToysRUs one time and have them setup on one of my tables...

Of course, I like Alastair Sim as Ebenezer Scrooge too...I can always watch this...

Holy cow!!! I forgot about that one. They used to play it all the time on HBO and sometimes on Nickelodeon. That's another great one. Last time I checked the DVD was up near $40 and haven't checked since then.

    Charlie Brown, then the Grinch.

Rudolph was cool too...that was the one with the Abominable Snowman, right?

I have a VHS copy of "Emmet Otter's Jug-band Christmas" that I burned to DVD. It's definitely a timeless classic. I even keep the cheesy Paul Williams music in my Christmas MP3 list. :)
